surely theres a few fans on here...

have a new album coming out later this month

you can hear 3 songs here http://www.amazon.com/Stone-Temple-Pilots/e/B000ARC4TI

and a review here http://grungereport.net/2010/05/05/...-review-of-the-new-stone-temple-pilots-album/

sounds ok so far and going by the review sounds like some really good songs on it.

im looking forward to hearing it and hopefully they finally tour here.
Was about to start this thread myself actually!!

I'm pretty pumped for this album, sounds good. I also enjoy that they are using the 60's as an inspiration for the music!

One of the best bands of the nineties, Core and Purple are great albums and Tiny Music (Songs from the Vatican Gift Shop) is underrated as well, got some great tracks on it too.

Haven't done much of note since then, their last two albums were pretty average, so hopefully this new album is a return to form.

Were (and still are) at the top of my ..."please tour" list for years.

De Leo bros. highly under-rated

Velvet Revolver managed to keep Scott off the gear long enough to tour here ... lets pray STP can do the same

Now theres a band that I haven't thought about for years! Always thought they were underrated in comparison to their contemporaries in the '90s. I'll definitely be on the look-out for their new album :thumbsu:

well it has leaked!

on first listen its your typical STP record, 2-3 stp classics then 5-6 good songs then 3 that are so so.

if its a grower it will become a very good album, probaly a bit short of their best though.

Tiny Music was definitely an underrated gem. I think if you were looking for another "Plush" you'd write it off straight away, but it had some great slow-burners.

Picked it up from JB tonight, loving it after one play-through.

OK, still loving it after more. It's a much more consistently upbeat album than what I remember of Shangri La. Lots of energy, a few decent vocal hooks but it won't be a hit maker like say Core. Enjoying it a lot.
