Stopping the Tigers 2020

7 games in a row at the G??@@!!
And this will be followed by the denials that this was an advantage. We know them so well now.
1)..But its our home ground.
2)..We had to play other tenants, so not really "Home games".
3)..We had to travel more early in the fixture (which was still less than Interstate teams)
4)..We had to go to the Gabba for our first final.
5)..Well it was the AFL's fault for scheduling it.
Boring really.

If it's boring--- why are you posting in a thread about Richmond??

Boring if other sides played 7 in a row at home too. Whether they are home games or not. I know it's the competition. I understand, and it is what it is.

Just wondering how many games Richmond had at the MCG from rounds 3 to 16 or do those 13 games not suit the agenda that Richmond somehow had all these games on the MCG.

Oh and by the way thanks to you opposition fans and media having a King Kong sook about our final 7 games because the oh so predictable AFL in their wisdom to avoid a recurrence in 2020 because of said sooking has scheduled us with 10 of our first 13 at the MCG. Hahahahahahahahaha

Oh just to fill you all in

Final 7 games of 2019 at the MCG
First 10 of 13 games of 2020 at the MCG

I'll let you all work out how many games at the MCG that is from 20 straight home and away games, could almost be a record don't you think. :D
'10 of first 13' is strictly correct. However, the point still stands.

With finals thrown in, that's four games not at the 'G in 23. That must be a record percentage-wise (82.6%) for 23 consecutive games which constitutes the average season (9 finals equals one extra full round on 22 full rounds).

All because of concern about the fixture at the end of last season pushing such games forward to the start of the following season.

I didn’t say they weren’t a quality team - I said they had a myriad of factors working in their favour, and they’ve managed to capitalise as a result.
Like every premiership team. Theres a lot of "what if" in football, and the list of them is endless, some work in your favour some don't, and often flag requires factors working your way at the right time, but that's not unique to the Tigers success, it applies to most.

It is boring, I find it much more entertaining reading other fans whinge about our recent success.

Of course it does. In 2019 Richmond however didn’t need any favours. They were clearly the best team in the comp and would have won the Premiership if they had played on the road for four straight weeks, including the Grand Final. In round 23 West Coast only needed to beat the ninth placed Hawthorn( in Perth) to secure the home state advantage though to and including the Prelim. They got clobbered. Richmond would never have let that happen.

I wasn't surprised by that result in Perth. WC couldn't afford to let their guard down. Hawthorn had made finals the year before and could well be back this year.

Isn't there other threads to discuss the fixture, scheduling, #VICBIAS, etc. This thread is about Stopping Richmond in 2020--- not West Coast's fixture

True, just responding to the 23 mcg games for Tiges! It was said tongue in cheek. I know it's afl, not vfl.... ha ha

Have to admit it.

Peggy O'Neal and Brendan Gale have done a phenomenal job.

Equalisation of the AFL will kick in sooner or later and th Tuges will need to rebuild their list again (especially the midfield) but they will still be hard to beat in 2020. No doubts.
All going well hopefully our recruiting keeps us in good stead for the next decade or 2. Fingers crossed for later.
It has always been ebbs and flows for all teams so it is important to make hay while the sun shines.

I wouldn't find it boring playing all games on our home ground, even if the other team is listed first!!!

almost as boring as the constant ******* sooking about it. Especially from you eagles fans.

Has any flag in the history of the AFL upset a supporter base more than Richmond’s 2019 flag has upset WCE fans? It’s amazing. It’s like they think they are entitled to it for some reason. Not even a top four side. Would semi understand if GWS said something with their injuries, etc. (even though it’s a massive stretch) but the sixth best side in the league whinging is absolutely laughable.
