if raiders win and storm win then we can only play either broncos or raiders in week 3 so no sydney sides must mean we get a home final again is this right?

Bulldogs have won tonight.

Next week if Storm win:

SF1: Dragons v Manly at Aussie
SF2: Knights v Broncos at Aussie (possible move to Energy or Suncorp? But it's still NSW team)

PF1: Bulldogs v either Knights or Broncos
PF2: Storm v either Dragons or Manly

Next week if Eels win:

SF1: Dragons v Storm at Aussie
SF2: Eels v Broncos at Aussie

PF1: Knights v either Eels or Broncos
PF2: Bulldogs v either Dragons or Storm

There is no chance of a moved final unless somehow Knights don't count as a NSW team.

Where are the PF's played?

With the Swans winning tonight, there could be a clash over the use of Stadium Oz.

Aussie and Telstra.

Venues won't be decided until Week 2 is finished (avoiding the debacle between Tigers v Dragons last year which would've been 60,000+ at Telstra but ended up 40,000 at Aussie).

The NRL will no doubt want to take Telstra. Any of the preliminary finals involving the Bulldogs would potentially attract 50,000+ spectators.

Cheers.

Agree on the crowd in a game v Knights or Broncos. Storm v Dragons or Sea Eagles should draw well too, but would probably be the Aussie game.

I believe the current rule is "if it is 2 non-Sydney teams in a PF, it can be played away from Sydney provided that both teams agree to do so." Unless it's Broncos vs Cowboys, who would be dumb enough to agree to such a thing?

"If" the Storm win today when would the NRL rather play the Bulldog Prelim Final at Telstra Stadium????

"If" the Storm the LOSE and the Dragons go though to the Prelim with the Dogs I take it only one Prelim will still be at Telstra and not two???

Also keep in mind guys with the Swans winning though to the Prelim last night, they have already booked Telstra for either the Friday Night or the Saturday Afternoon and our tickets go on sale THIS WEDNESDAY! So the NRL "might" be forced into making their call on Prelim venues and dates earlier then planned.

Graham Annesley came out and confirmed today that both matches next week will be played at Aussie.
What about next week???

Reports seem that the AFL is going to comfirmed the Time, dates and venues of BOTH Prelims TONIGHT and it appears that the AFL is going give the Swans a 7.30pm Friday Night Prelim at Telstra Stadium. So don't know what the NRL are going to make of that.

NRL Finals take precedent over all else @ Telstra Stadium. Simple as that.

However, I dream that a Melbourne v Brisbane Preliminary Final will be switched from Sydney to Telstra Dome in Melbourne and 56,000 sellout will be in attendance.

Its probably only gunna be a dream :D. I can't see the NRL doing it, and to be honest, i can't see the Broncos getting there.

Would be good however.

Actually it does make sense. Under the McIntyre system only the first week winners are deserving of home ground advantage.

The proof goes like this. Next weekend's semi finals are as follows:

Newcastle (4th) v Brisbane (3rd)
St George (6th) v Manly (5th)

If HGA was awarded under the "who finished higher" criteria, you'd have Manly playing at home and Newcastle playing away. In effect, rewarding the former for losing and punishing the latter for winning.

Poor Telstra Stadium - missing out on a guaranteed 70,000 crowd.

The SCG are laughing all the way to the bank...

What's wrong with some of you people?

Storm WILL NOT be playing the Bulldogs or Broncos in a prelim.

Storm v winner of Dragons v Sea Eagles
Bulldogs v winner of Knights v Broncos

The NRL always stage the 1st Prelim @ Football Stadium and the 2nd Prelim @ Homebush. Therefore, Friday Night was never contemplated. It's a free night for AFL to bring their show to town..

There was also a Bulldogs final IIRC that got shifted because of the Lions prelim.

*edit, actually I think it might have been the collingwood game..

Is the storm really having a second final in melb or is this nothing but bull?
There is provision to play home prelim finals if BOTH teams playing are not from NSW. This avoids the farcical situation a few years ago when they gave away tens of thousands of tickets to a Warriors/Raiders final played in Sydney.

Unfortunately even though the Dragons and the Sea Eagles are ranked below the storm, they will play the prelim at Aussie Stadium because both are NSW teams, totally negating any home ground advantage that out of Sydney teams might have at such an important time of year.

That was a fantastic game BTW. Just fantastic.

Tix were given to Kiwi passport holders by the owner of the Warriors who paid for them all.
