I really don't get this. We went too far last year with partners travelling with the team etc., but isolating them from their normal lives in the week leading up to the game could have a hugely detrimental effect. Business travel is not an example you want to follow. It'd be a very short week but they'd sleep in their own beds four or five nights which is enough to recharge the batteries before going back to Melbourne.

I don't think so. Don't talk about it with the players before hand except maybe the leadership group but one solid week in Melbourne in a group bonding type exercise with everything planned could work out better. If any player or family can't spare them for a week during such an important career event, I would be very surprised.

Just fly their stuff over afterwards with their families for the GF. We would be rank outsiders for the GF after three cut throat finals in a row. Maybe we would have to change it up and take a risk for four in a row.

Let's win on Saturday first then we can make a thread about it.

Easy to say in hind sight. Brisbane just missed the eight, Melbourne had Roos and they had a new unproven coach.

It's only for 2 weeks as I got odds, Probiatas would have had to wear mine for a month.

Sorry for the intrusion guys but I truly believe that If you guys live up to these lyrics on Saturday night you should win in a close one and hopefully send the Hawks packing a week later in the Preliminary Final. Good Luck may the purple haze be strong.

Happened twice since the system was introduced, but it is obviously a very rare occurrence. I would be over the moon if we got up this week and advanced to play Hawthorn, but I'm not getting my hopes up too high.

We've won without the above 2 before and we came close to beating Sydney.

Especially when u take a look at how most of the goals that Sydney kicked weren't from open play but from soft free kicks resulting in Set shots.

Just because the AFL has a concept of a Top 4 doesn't mean there aren't more teams as good as those teams. Port Adelaide could just have easily finished in the top 4 and history means nothing on Saturday.
