I wouldn't have thought so
Elton John and Molly Meldrum were very close friends for a long time (broke down in recent years), so thats probably where the St Kilda connection came from. Cut to about 3 mins in this video to see Molly present Saints jumpers to both Elton and Billy Joel and talk a bit of footy. Whole video is worth a watch if you have the time/interest. Poor Billy stuck between two men making as many gay jokes as they can!
