BUMP. Angus Litherland can be added to players to wear 3 different numbers at one club.

#42 (2011-2012)
#31 (2013-2015)
#17 (2016-present)

And Zach Webster (45-36-31) and Dallas Willsmore (43-38-20).

Both have had three numbers in three years on the list, haven't played a senior game in any of them.

Thought this was worth bumping with the Essendon top-up players set to wear numbers going up to #77 (Sam Michael). If they end up playing home and away matches they'll be by far the highest numbers ever worn.

Top up Bombers:
47. Marcus Marigliani
50. James Polkinghorne
51. Aaron Heppell
54. Josh Freezer
55. Anthony Tipungwuti
56. Jordan Schroder
58. Sam Tagliabue
72. Clint Jones
73. Mitch Brown
74. Mitch Clisby
75. Jared Petrenko
76. James Magner
77. Sam Michael

Sam Michael ended up playing, but in #56, therefore equaling the highest number at Essendon

GWS' Zac Williams started out in #51 also

May have missed them browsing this thread, but in terms of 3 jumpers numbers at one club Macaffer and Elliott are another two.

Macaffer - 45 (2007-08), 30 (2009-12), 3 (2013-16)
Elliott - 35 (2012), 19 (2013-2014), 5 (2015-)

Semi-related in terms of players moving to bigger numbers, but I always thought this one was interesting. Before the start of the 1997(?) season, Kym Koster, Tyson Edwards and Matthew Robran did a 3-way swap of numbers, presumably to let Matthew wear hid dad's no 10.

Robran 5 --> 10
Koster 9 --> 5
Edwards 10 --> 9

Edwards never had #10 - that was Chris McDermott's number but he got cleaned out when Blight arrived -

Robran jumped at the chance to grab 10 (as it was his old man's #), so then Koster took 5. Edwards was wearing 37(? - or something close) and then took the available 9 jumber

Thought I'd bump this and ask something.

Why did Aaron Sandilands wear No. 13 for 2002 and moved to his more remembered No. 31 for 2003?
Simon Eastaugh had no. 31 in 2002 but was no longer on the Fremantle list in 2003, allowing Sandilands to move from 13 to 31. Perhaps there's no more to it than that?!

Ah k that makes sense.

Thought it was weird asking for a number low on the list.

I like this, but it still shits me that they didn't allow McCartney to wear #88

Didn't the Roos have the numbers 88 and 202 on the front or was that specifically for Jason?

That was a compromise, but he wanted to wear 88 on his back. Stunned that it was disallowed

Hirdy wearing #45 in the Fosters Cup Grand Final 1993 then when he kicked 5.5 and was the match winner they game him #5.
James Hird was in #49 in that game (his no. from 1992). Mark Mercuri was in #45, then also made a big move (to no. 2).

Would statisticians include the jumper numbers worn by Franklin and Burgoyne? Both are wearing 67 tonight

Dane Rampe is wearing 50 also
