I would bring in Reid to play forward/relief ruck. Really need to give Grundy some help.

And Varcoe. Greenwood's attack on the ball and speed and agility need to be replaced with similar.
On the MCG, you can't afford to be lacking pace.

We may win a flag with Reid in the side.

We may win a flag without Reid.

But if Reid or Moore breaks down in either game- it’s highly unlikely we can win the flag.

It’s a huge risk to play both, I’m really undecided.

Adding Wells into the mix would be dicing with disaster.

It’s more a matter of whether we can actually win a flag without Reid, Moore and Wells.

If we make it, it’ll be against Richmond.

And my money is that we won’t win against them without Reid and Moore.

Jury is out in relation to wells.

I remember last year people saying, “we’re doing fine without Reid and Moore. We don’t need them.” Lol.

With or without Reid I think Richmond would be firm favourites to beat us in a GF.

But I take your point that maybe we need to take the risk. It’s a tough call and I’m glad I’m not responsible for the decision.

Isn't that true for the majority of our team?

For me, you have to leave Rough, Moore and Howe together.... They are glue in that backline now.
Therefore, you need to bring a tall in to play forward and give Mihocek a hand.

Reid? Shaz? Lynch? Madgen?

There's not a lot of choice.
Reid was also quite good during the year when he was fit.

We didn't have a single goal kicked by a tall forward against Geelong, and our small fast forward line clearly caused them lots of issues. If we had a star tall forward then sure bring them in, Reid is just a fringe player right now who will most likely break down in 1 or 2 games.... Huge risk for little reward.

That's not the Reid I remember from earlier in the year who took a number of contested pack marks and kicked a couple of bags.

AA Reid would be a fine option . . .

That was a few years ago and is never returning. Great mark and kick - when he is on the field.

CHRONIC soft tissue problems in the legs, it's a roll of the dice.

It's not a question of if, but when he will break down again. Can he hold it together for a couple of games?

His track record makes that debatable and more like a couple of quarters.

The selection committee have some hard choices ahead.

Ried remains the closest structural match available and the riskiest.

I personally believe that following the structural match formula in this instance is a mistake.

No other player on our list brings what Jordan does and the nearest match is heartbeat away from breaking down again.

Inject other talent into the 22 would be my choice.

There isn't a like for like replacement so it's a matter of adding a different type of threat for the opposition to deal with.

Now I don't like the necessity as much as many of us here won't but the only one out of the team with the skillset to add enough value is Wells.

If the fitness staff think he will be able to play 70% game time he would be coming under consideration.

Yes it's a big risk but so was Moore and that played alright.

If we want to spread defenses as we did this week his skillset coming on and off the bench is a viable option - skillset I say - the fitness staff have the final say.

Adding to that didn't have Moore nor Roughead. Was relying on an underdone gokdsack on one of the wce key defenders.

Alot of things change, while one good player may be out it opens the door for another player to step in and shine

This is exactly how I want it. Let them be the odds on favourites. That is when we play our best footy, not when we are the favourites.

It is a moot point, but if Brisbane took half their chances early in the game yesterday the result could have been totally different. They didn't kill the game off when they could have. Rainer and a few others were the culprits and they paid for it in spades
