This is not the draft to pursue that strategy in. And those two wont get traded.

Stringer will either be pick 20 or our 2018 1st plus a fringe player in either case.

Dahlhaus is FA next year i cant see us trading hard for him now.

Dahlhaus will be at the Cats soon.

Book mark it.

How often to players who's main problem is above the shoulders end up reaching their potential after a trade?

I have no doubt there is a lot of behind the scenes problems going on with Stringer. 23, kids, divorced, kicked out of his own club. How bad would the situation be that the Bulldogs are happy to turf him & his massive talent instead of HELP him?
I think gary ablett snr was a fair example

He wants to come back to Geelong.

It'll take a mighty effort to make it happen, and it won't happen this year.

My father in law knows his Dad.

Remember he trained with us in his draft year and we were keen (like with stringer) but the dogs pounced first so if he is gettable as an FA next year we will be keen then.

After the Crows loss I don't think GAJ is an option any longer. It's a band-aid fix. All resources have to be directed to getting Stringer, IMO

I take Ablett over Stringer, if it comes down to one or the other

Ablett could be a good mentor for the kids coming through.
Help prepare the future generation

You're on an opposition board, disagreeing with people without any substance. Don't be too precious.
doesn't matter if i'm another team's board, it was simply me saying a player from my club won't be going to the cats, and you reply with get the * out,

I'd agree but Stringer is a spud imo. Best focus on a more consistent player.

We definitely don't want Ablett. He's cooked and not going to show the kids any leadership. Also shouldnt go for stringer, I can only see he will end up an average player.

I truly don't see what the upside is for Geelong in bringing Gaz back. It's a short term gamble with a guaranteed long term negative impact. I can't believe Geelong are even considering it let alone a deal nearly done as the media seems to think it is.

Just to piss Richmond off
Yeah, I'm off to collect my tickets tomorrow.

I didn't come on to troll. I had just been listening to discussion on the radio about it and I popped on here because I truly don't get it. The spot on the list he will be taking up could be the next Gary Ablett

No way Blicavs is traded. Not just because despite his recent patchy form (coming off a broken leg), he is still a uniquely versatile player. AND he is extremely close to the Guthrie clan.

You're right to say he won't be traded, but I would hope that the club's reasoning would not be as you suggest. Versatility is a generally overrated attribute and it Blicavs' case it is ridiculously so.

A team of 22 specialists, each good at what they do, will flog a team of utlities that are handy in multiple positions.

I don't care either way if he returns as long as he is cheap but in Well's we trust. Enjoy your tickets let's see how it turns out.

I'd say pick 20 and a fringe player who may develop....Dogs don't want him that's clear.....which sends a message to be very careful if you take him.
Same with Menzel. Seemingly unwilling to keep a 40 goal forward.
Buyer beware signal from the GFC.
