Wingard worth next to nothing, always had a poor attitude that no club would want, now that his talent is in serious and terminal decline - delist

Stringer not at Essendon next season, have I missed something?

Its not out of the question Wingard could be out the league next year, or at the very least join a club on a 1 year contract with heavy incentives. Quite the dramatic fall for someone that was a x2 AA before the age of 21.

The romantic in me has thought could Port get him back and try and reinvigorate his career, but watching him play I'm not sure there's a lot to be reinvigorated to be honest.

I’d love stringer back. Just a shame he pissed so much of our club off with his off-field and locker room antics. Watching stringer and bont go at it through our midfield was a thing of absolute joy though!!

I think Wingard has, through injury and a change of coach, just lost his passion for footy. I think he's close to hanging up the boots, unless maybe he moves back to SA.

Stringer has also had his injuries, but I think he's also a contract year specialist. Circa 2021 he did an interview with AFL media about how his improved form was due to the fact that although he'd always hated and avoided running, he finally forced himself to do some extra fitness sessions which had been paying off in games, enabling to impact in the middle. I thought to myself "you can't be serious mate, you've been pocketing millions for years as a marquee player while your club is busting its arse to be a finals contender, and only NOW that you're facing a haircut do you try doing a few extra laps. Gagf."

Refreshing to read this. I am a San Antonio Spurs fan, and Kawhi Leonard is my favourite ever Spur. All other Spurs fans trash talk him because of his off-field stuff. But he was and is still a joy to watch when he's on the park.

Sure we’ll have chad back
I'd love to see him back at Port, if he's interested. I just want to see him play his game.

One of the best talents I've ever seen. While he was at Port I thought he had Buddy/Ablett level of potential.

Stringer v Wingard

Wasted career v wasted career.

Both started out looking like they could be significant long term AA standard and have just not made the most of their talent.

I see Stringer as the bigger disappointment because he could have been close to number 1 with a decent work ethic.

Both made the AA team in 2015 and got rich of what could have been.

Wingard dropped away the quicker of the two. Jake could have been a great if given 1 year contracts.

It’s the break in Stringers lower leg that has wrecked his career. Given the severity it’s amazing he’s had the career he has had. He’s a tosser of a bloke in many ways but that’s not what has held him back either.

The break was pre-draft.
He made AA and coasted.
2021 showed that he could still do it if he had a consistent work ethic, but he preferred an easy path rather than maximise his talent.

Feel for Chad. Unlike Stringer he isn't a s**t bloke and the amount of hate he cops can be pretty vile.

I don't for a second believe that he isn't a hard worker. Maybe in his earlier years as a young bloke he wasn't the best professional (not alone there) but I haven't seen one iota of that as a Hawk. You can clearly see him trying hard on the field (works his way up the field a lot as an outlet) but his body doesn't hold up. Can't chase, can't tackle, can't kick it over 40m now. Shot on confidence.

Forget what game it was this year but he marked a ball in the centre square and was 15m in the clear from his opponent. Went for a run but it looked like he was running in quick sand. Nearly got run down. 10 years ago he would have slotted it on the run from 55.

Would be worth next to zilch at the moment. I wonder if we keep him on a reduced 1yr contract just to help with Brockman.
