Dont worry people there is no way Adelaide would draft Dew, they will prefer the young kids.

Ben Hart is a better chance of being drafted to Adelaide than Dew.

From what I've heard Stewie has been working very hard to get into some sort of shape, and so isnt quite the porky pig that people are suggesting. He would be more like the build of Darren Jarman in his last year or two, and could probably play a similar role in the forward line. Having said that, I would be spewing to see him drafted by us. We've made the tough calls on a few older players, and we have clearly made the decision to go young and rebuild. Stewie Dew would be a step in the other direction IMO, and would fly in the face of our previous decisions. I dont think our players would be all that happy about it either. Really, only a club with a realistic chance of winning the flag in the next 2 seasons would consider Dew, as a goal kicking top up player for their squad. Personally, I see him playing in Centrals next flag in 2008.
I would rather Darren Jarmen!!

If we do draft him, it means Centrals will have him for the 08 and 09 flags. Surely he would not be in our best 22.

This ain't gonna happen surely!

Imagine that fat p**** in the tri-colours.

The guy throws away a football career to chase some skirt over to the US. She realises (like a lot of them do) that he's gone from being an AFL footballer to just a plain obese muppet, when in fact he was an obese muppet all along. It's all well and good to pull the ladies when you are an AFL footballer but when that's gone, the lights come on and they see you for what you are.

Griffen will never put on the kilo's with that **** eating all the pies!

If Dew is serious, go try your hand at American football, can eat all you want, just stand there and bomb away with the only football skill you have, your left leg.

yeah spot on, might be worth a look if we were a premiership threat still.

If he goes anywhere you think it would be Hawthorn with the Clarkson link, but surely they're not foolish enough to do that?

What I don't understand is why John Reid even bothered to say they'll think about it. He came out with the Welsh decision and said the club were taking a stance and his age, fitness and off field behaviour were issues. Dew is what, one year younger? Been out of the system for a couple of years, and played for friggin Port. I don't get why Reid just didn't say we are not interested, he is no hope of being drafted.

Things that have been happening down at the club have been scaring me of late and I just don't know anymore. We better bloody not draft him.

With Welsh going I would have no problem filling his spot with a 28 year old proven AFL footballer in good physical shape. The Crows will do their assessment and pick accordingly. Their assessment would also include a thorough investigation into his social habits too I would imagine. If he gets picked up I would trust their judgement.

we've embarked on a policy of going with youth so why should we suddenly throw that aside - for a risky 28yo - perhaps a 28yo superstar i may consider but Dew whether fit or not - no thank you - besides Griffin needs all the pies he can eat without someone intruding :)

Mark Williams has said he will not be back with us and it is hawthorn all the way, so you can all relax, even for your lot it would be a backward step.

Mark Williams was the reason he left - not the bit of skirt.Apparently never spoke 1 word to him all year - SMS and messages via team mates.
That's what I heard from reliable source;)

I'd rather Chambers than Stuart Poo. Seriously this isn't going to happen. Worst thread evar.

Agree with that.

If the crows picked up Stuart Dew I'd probably start joining all the doomsdayers and start calling for the heads of Craig, Reid and Trigg. I agree with their current stance on the older players, should have been taken a while back. If we are going to take Stuart Dew, why not try coax Whitnall out of retirement while we are at it.
