Unfortunately the head of high performance can't make the players grow a back bone so sacking Stuey will achieve 0
Laughable if you don't think our strength and conditioning is an issue.

Look at the crows players and then look at ours.. Our experienced players like Drew are still sticks. Jackson has been in the system a few seasons, still a stick. Burgoyne, Marshall, even Bergman could put on some size.

It's not always heart and effort that costs games, it's physicality as well. We saw many desperate attempts to tackle today, yet they got shrugged off like a kid tackling a man.

Our fitness has been so bad, I don't need to elaborate - and our soft tissue injuries are through the roof as well.

This all comes back to strength and conditioning.

No coach is winning anything with poor strength and conditioning. Hope that helps

Another head that needs to roll in our end of year clean up. We have been notorious at not being able to run out 4 quarters of footy this season. Look at the conditioning of Willie Rioli...

I dunno about High Performance from a fitness perspective, but I’m so tempted to rip off the Clark Kent glasses and head into the club and stare down the club structure and demand a High Performance position from an “all of club” perspective to shake it from the core.

The years since 2017 have been a disaster, in that there’s a body of football knowledge who knew back then that we needed to develop a hard finals edge, which was increasingly apparent was not there. We were getting soft and comfortable in our “market position” (ie H/A ranking) and not listening to its supporter base about demanding to be No 1. And failing whilst striving for No 1 is ok. They don’t get it. We dont want to settle for “good enough, most of the time, sort of”

I’m not talking about doing it for them, Im not talking about unlimited funding we don’t have. I’m talking about ensuring they can demonstrate that they are identifying and implementing and being supported in the best “bang for buck” outcomes we can get. Make sure we have someone who knows how to review, and endorse, and inspire, and drive the club incessantly.

Make sure they all know how they make each other better, and how as a group we make the coaches and players better.

And if any of them don’t commit or aren’t up to it, thank them for their service, and get the best.
And if any of them are the best, then reward them, and then challenge them to find a bit more.

And make all of the above performance-metric-based, and then be accountable and transparent to the members. Monthly.

And then be respectfully aggressive to the competition, to the opponents, to the umpiring, to the AFL draw, to the TV and online broadcasters, that we deserve and demand our share, and we will be open and transparent to the media where we are not.

I don’t care what other teams supporters think of us. I only want them to know that they have to be at their best to beat us, because we’re not going to lower our standards to lose to them. I want us to be Port Adelaide, not “port adelaide”. To front up when we win, and front up when we lose.

I hate that we don’t have that club now.

Rant over.

Burgess on track for taking his second team to a flag in 5 years at two different clubs.

But meanwhile at ****ing Alberton la la land ……
One thing I don't blame the club on is Burgess he's burn't us twice, people can sing his praises all they like but he treated us like a stop gap until better things popped up you can't keep going to the well with people that operate like that. Not finding good enough replacements is another issue.

Me and Stuart Graham.

I'd me making a call to Andrew Russell. Why not? Back to the future.
I was just thinking this. I know nothing about S&C, even less about the circumstances of his departure from Carlton and what he’s doing now, but he’s a winner with an outstanding track record so he has to better than the glorified whiteboard carrier we’ve got now.

Is this guy poopy, or is the culture in the club so bad that they don't work hard enough?

Parham?

Only thing I've heard about Parham is that he really pushes his players through their rehab processes (being a positive not a negative), that Carr likes him, and that Burgess really likes him and didn't want to lose him.

Another internal appointment?

It would be, but he's only been back at Port for 1 year, comes from the Burgess tree.

Sorry, I meant Graham. You paint a pretty picture of Parham.

I'd be sending the team to Dagestan and make them train with the UFC fighters for 3 months, and make lifting heavy weights a thing at the club. I remember when I used to play bloody 3rd div union many years ago - I took it seriously. I ate right, I trained twice a week at the club. Three times a week at the gym and used the 8x8 weight training system of the legendary Vince Gironda followed by laps of my block. I played with minimal rotations, no injuries and plenty of tries scored. No drugs, only protein and creatine. I did that for free because I absolutely loved it. And still do.

Ahhh. Look I haven't really heard much about Graham. I know they really liked what he did last year, and although they have acknowledged the majority of their fadeouts in games have been mental, I don't think they're thinking they're the only reason, per se.

It’s like going back to the same chick you broke up with
