Australian cyclist Stuart O'Grady is in hospital after collapsing at the Valencia MotoGP in Spain.

O'Grady collapsed during a corporate event on Sunday, just after taking a hot lap around the circuit with Australian MotoGP rider Casey Stoner.

Cycling South Australia executive manager Max Stevens said the Saxo Bank rider collapsed while being introduced to other MotoGP riders on the race grid by Stoner.

"Casey Stoner started to interview Stuart and introduce him to these people," Stevens told News Ltd.

"Stuart couldn't answer the questions and then he collapsed."

Stevens said O'Grady had been admitted to hospital by doctors and was currently undergoing tests to determine the cause of the incident.

"We'll know more in the next couple of days," he said.

The winner of two Tour de France stages and the Paris-Roubaix one-day classic, O'Grady has had to deal with health-related issues in the past.

In 2002, he had surgery to remove a blockage in an artery which had caused a power imbalance in his legs.

While earlier in his career he had problems with an abnormally fast heartbeat.
the media report says he collapsed - 10 here in SA said on the news he had a seizure so I got NFI????

Lets hope the doctors find out what is going on :(

Stuey has got in three known blues. No need to be an apologist. There was the one in Toulouse in 98 with Vogels and Millar. Then there was one with (against) Darryn Hill about 95. Then there was one with CJ Sutton in Monaco in the offseason last year. Either 2008/9 offseason, or 2007/8 offseason.

He has also taken a few heavy crashes. There is also the spectre of what we cannot raise its name, in due respect to Stuey. There are innumerable options.

Hopefully he is fine, and his wife puts his life first, than his career. Need the partners of athletes in cases like these, to make sober decisions about ones future.
