Fair enough I say. Yes, it is Finals footy and we want to see hard hitting stuff, but Brodie comes off the square with a brainless attitude in knocking out Brett Montgomery (best on ground in the end), in just a ridiculous manner.

Holland's verdict was that his hit had "intentional conduct, high impact, in play and high contact" - which comes to a total of 425 points or a four-match ban. On top of that, Holland's bad record of 5 matches in the last 3 seasons, the total accumulated to 595 points, BUT, he was once again hit hard with 96.88 residual points added onto the accumulated total from a bad record within the last 12 months, meaning SIX weeks.

If Collingwood and Brodie take the guilty approach from the panel, he will have a 25% discount (equating to 518.91 points) and a five match ban. This will scar his tribunal record for future reports, but if he fights the tribunal, he could face 6 weeks, a bigger loss.

Does not worry me at all. With all the new kids in next year and the current new blood from this year he may find it very hard to get back in the team after 5 weeks might see him around round 8 who knows.

I think it was a good bump and don't blame him for doing that. 6 weeks is a bit harsh, I suppose he deserves the 2 extra weeks for his poor record but I would of thought around 2 or 3 would of sufficed.

But when you look at this j, intentional conduct, high impact, in play and high contact, i can't see where it can be changed. He came off the square going for Monty and not the ball (and the ball wasn't with Monty), it was obviously high impact and contact, and in play.

6 is very harsh - but obviously the AFL are sending a message.......come off the line in a final and run past the ball to flatten a player - and you will lose....;)

I agree.Stupid act.
Should of at least gone for West or Cross.
At least it will silence all the "Collingwood players never get reported" morons.

..the same reason Vandenberg copped 4 for a stupid double elbow brush to robertsons neck - another brain snap coupled with a terrible record. At least Holland's connected.

absolute horse sh1t!
1. If they are going to be consistant then maybe yeah i can deal with it.
2. But what ****es me off the most is that the game has become weak. When a balarina like holland cant get away with a hip and shoulder there has to be something wrong.
BRING BACK THE ****IN BIFF FFS

He got exactly what he deserved. Glad to see the tribunal use some brains with this decision.

This is what I dont get.

Guys like Guerra go out and target players like Holland did, yet they jump before they bump. Holland did not jump so why is it worse than what Guerra and co. do?

cant any of you admit that one of your players actions was ridiculous, and un-called for....i like to see a bit of hip and shoulder play, but this was just plain stupid. shattock did a similar thing to a st.kilda player, did not stop short of saying he doesnt deserve to be playing football.
but im glad you felt like it gave you the edge. football skills intimidation counts much more than what i saw. and you guys were rag dolls, always will be.
