Sublime skills

Shaun Burgoyne, Cyril Rioli, Chad Wingard, Bontempelli all come to mind. Silky skills/Rolls Royce types.

More grunt skillset but Dustin Martin as well.

A lot easier to hit a full forward on the lead with one player on him and no one else Inside 50 than through 36 players.

Bunk Moreland go back and watch Bontempelli in the grand final. Pure skill, hitting targets 50m while in congestion. Massively influential game but without the super stats line.

There are plenty in the league right now apart from Bont too. GAJ obviously, Pendlebury, Mitchell, Burgoyne, Wingard and Gray around goal are silk, Sidebottom doesn't miss many,

And personally (besides shots at goal) I cannot picture GAJ lacing out any passes greater than 20m

You don't have to picture it when there would be heaps of video evidence out there.

This. Not too many teams would have their best player kick at 100% in the pressure cooker of a grand final.

Bont did.

Wanganeen was the best at this. Used to pinpoint passes while getting tackled and those floating kicks that just stay out of reach of the opposition were awesome.

Chris Yarran was the first one I thought of. Had such a penetrating & damaging kick and pace.

The problem is the game is very physical and skills can be pushed into the background by desperate players hunting the ball and man, Yarran has fantastic skills either side but gets fazed by attention - which TBH is a real Victorian trait, Victorian footy is much closer in unlike WA footy which generally is much more open.

Bachar Houli is one of today's best kicks.

There's a good 50 pass in there that Riewoldt somehow stuffs up.
