Subtle Psychopath Cues

Worked with a dude who we ran through based upon what he had told us over time. We pegged him about 80 which felt right in hindsight. He was just vexatious & toxic.
Well now we need details.

This lil' eBook https://www.amazon.com.au/How-Spot-Psychopath-Joe-Navarro-ebook/dp/B005LDMOWS gives you a 150 odd point checklist to give you a spectrum.
I think it spun like this (paraphrasing)
0-40 normal
40-80 person will negatively impact your life should you let them into it
80-120 person will do you harm - not necessarily physically, but emotionally, financial, etc.
120+ Get this person out of your life now!

I came across a 120 +

Shits on the back of the toilet seat and then inexplicably doesn't clean it up afterwards.

When giving you their phone number, doesn't use the 0000 - 000 - 000 method
I believe, un-controversially IMO, that this is acceptable where double and triple numbers cross the accepted boundaries.

eg:
041333 0221

Instead of using their mobile phone like a regular person on a train, they put it on speaker and hold it near their mouth so everybody can hear the conversation.
And then it actually rings for a real call...

Well now we need details.

Most stuff is just general "shit bloke" fare.
  • Bragging about syphoning money out of his aging parents, then big-noting about sending his kids to private school.
  • I wonder how many Melbourne folks come across him - as he often drives the wrong way up one way streets if he doesn't think the reason for the street being one way is valid.
  • Garden variety narcissism to an extent. Would mess something up, pretend it didn't happen, try to hide it, downplay it, blame someone else.
  • It was impossible to have a conversation about anything as he would literally run across the room to inject himself and offer his contrary views.
  • He was pretty easy to shut down verbally, but if you did it in such a way to make him feel as if his "status" was threatened, he'd outpace Usain Bolt getting to HR.
  • Was very, very status focussed - private school, German car, University. Every conversation. We were all on about the same $ rate which was nothing special. Most of us took the "be a rock" approach but it was exhausting. He'd be constantly throwing stupid statements out trying to goad someone into saying something so he could argue with them. Just crap when all you're trying to do is get a job done and go home.
  • He eventually got the flick. Long after most of us left. Stuffed something up, and in order to try and cover it up he logged in as a different user. One with a "C" in their title. And stuffed up his cover up so got busted. Followed it up a few months later and took the (listed) company offline for a day or so by stuffing something else up (that he had been told not to do). Don't think he's worked since.

Avidly staring at everyone they come across as if they’ve never seen a human being before

I've worked with this guy, or someone very similar to it. Nothing is worse than someone who humble brags about money related stuff. Especially when you work together and earn around the same amount.

No one ****ing cares if you drive an Audi or that you wifes parents paid for your kids to go to Ivanhoe Grammar

Doesn't give a thank you wave when driving and someone lets them in
Let a P-plater in one wet day from a train station car park. She gave me a big smile and wave but unfortunately gunned the engine at the
same moment and somehow ended up performing an immaculate 180 and ending up broadside in front of me.
Poor kid was mortified. Eventually sorted herself out.
Probably hasn't trusted herself to wave since.
