The genius in Subway is convincing people that it's not junk food and somehow better for you than the KFC's and Mackers of this world.
pretty sure it's an actual spray they use.I enjoy Subway, love the smell when you walk in their stores.

chunks in oil not the mushy stuff in waterTuna is cat food mate.
Hard to get tired of proper crusty rolls.
My bakery does decent chicken and salad ones for $4.50.
Last time I went to Subway I saw the person putting the bread rolls into the oven to bake. They arrive frozen and kinda look like breadsticks when they are raw and expand 3-4 times in size when cooked.
It is better than other fast food in that you actually get salad, cold meats etc. but with a dubious bun plus cookies and soft drink to go with it is sugar central. I've seen people order one of the unhealthier ones (meatball, chicken schnitzel etc) on white bread then add nothing except cheese and sauce and got the combo with a 600 mL Coke and 2 cookies. 'Eat fresh' indeed.
The 80s weight loss mode, fat is bad dont worry about the extra sugarYeah Subway is only healthier if you order one of their 6 grams of fat or less options, like a ham and salad sub with no sauce.
Ordering a steak & cheese sub with bacon and chipotle sauce isn't any healthier than ordering a burger at a fast food place.
Same with fish and chip shops with Greeks. Always better from my experience.Bakeries are good for racial profiling. If the people running it are Vietnamese, winner. If it's got a French sounding name it's worth investigating to see if actual French people are involved. If so, winner.

I guess we all by and large if born in the 70s or thereabouts experienced the greek fnc shops. they are our template/staple/minimum (chips) standard.I did think so but our local is run by Asians and is the best in the vicinity. I actually wonder how many fish and chip joints are still run by Greeks?

Lots would be Chinese nowI did think so but our local is run by Asians and is the best in the vicinity. I actually wonder how many fish and chip joints are still run by Greeks?
Yeah I guess they would have been mainly the newer immigrants running the fish and chip joints, so Europeans in the 90s and then the asians later on.
The fish and chippery down where our holiday cabin is is run by asians. The girl who works there (daughter) is probably 10 or 11 I'd imagine, she does the payments, adds it all up on paper, never fu**s it up, pretty impressive.
