So I made my decision.

I will be suiting up for Lidges life celebration.

I'm an A Grade n00b at buying, identifying good suits.

Help a brother out?

Salary 300 or near.

If you insist on buying a suit, stay away from crappy synthetic material and the Peter Jackson "I just stepped out of a shop window" look. Will you go with a tie or the no tie look? You'll need a good shirt too.

You might want to ask pharro and TOD too. Those guys will set you straight.

Yeah, my sister is getting married this year, so I guess I need to start thinking about suits now.

Hmm, I'll have a look around tomorrow, see if I like any, if not, will just wear casual clothing or something.

I updated my wardrobe this morning at DFO - not a suit but I scored a very nice woollen jacket from the Oxford Shop for $79 (reduced from $495) and a pair of navy strides from Fletcher Jones for $95. I will be wearing the new rags on Thursday - I'll also be getting plenty of use for them as work clothes. I wouldn't have just bought them for Thursday.

All I need now is one of the ties from the Roos Shop on Thursday morning.

Ah, thats a shame Q. Gotta say i don't blame you through, (Not having a dig at you Pharro) it does take a certain someone to carry that look.

I agree with an above poster, steer clear of cheapo synthetic stuff...

However if the wages aren't up to it, then maybe that'd be a good short term fix.

I like the nicer stuff and in fact need it in my line of work so I'm used to blowing a weeks wages every so often on some nice threads.

Gotta get me one of those royal blue and white kangas ties JB wears. Very nice!

Pharro = Mr Sartorial Elegance Himself If you prefer a bit of colour in your bag of fruit, preferably Blue & White, with matching Fedora.

IMO if some of you don't have a suit but a smart jacket with trousers (NOT DENIM) is appropriate wear for a funeral. As long as what you wear is CLEAN, IRONED and RESPECTFUL shouldn't be a problem.

Unfortuntely I can't make it but as someone who has sadly been to many a "send off" a tip I've found is to carry on one's person is a supply of tissues and or hanky and wear sunnies. Sad but true.

Don't forget to wear North Scarf/Hat etc but in good taste.

Went "suit" shopping today, didnt really find anything that really suits me, so gonna have to wear some normal clothing, hopefully this is ok by everyone.

Went into Myer aswell, I nearly bought a suit just because the chick serving me was of Megan Good quality.

But, I didnt get sucked in.

I guess this is too late, but one option could be buying an ex-hire suit. Comes cheap and are good quality, albeit second hand.

I've got 3 scarves (all missing).

2 jumpers (One framed with a "____ Off Gold Coast" printing on it, the other would barely fit my 8 month old niece).

So yeah, I think I might have to pop into the shop.
