Sturridge is a good player but he's only had one season where he has scored over 20 goals and that was when Suarez was going berserk. His next best is 11.

£25m sounds about right to me.
He'll be 27 also early next season

No resale value too plus his injury history, I say 20-25m

When a club doesn't want to sell a player it generally takes an offer massively above market value to consider a sale. We're not looking to sell Sturridge - he's over his injury issues. That's why the club would discuss offers far over the market value in much the same way Sterling was sold for £49m when his market value was around £30m.

You could start a salt mine with this post.....
He's got a point. How many complete seasons has Sturridge had? £40m is crazy money for someone who is so injury prone and still relatively unproven. If you threw in another £10m you could almost tempt Atletico to sell Griezmann.

Sterling was err 20yo? 21?

Still got his future ahead of him

Sure the English premium + rival premium applies with him too, but his value should always be higher than Sturridge's

Hence why I can't see us even considering a Sturridge sale unless we receive an offer too good to resist. £25m is nothing in today's market.

It's just my opinion on what I think clubs would be prepared to pay for him. I also don't think you can compare Sterling and Sturridge. Sterling was widely considered to be the most talented player under the age of 21 around the time Liverpool sold him to City. I don't think he's worth the fee City paid but I can understand why they did it.

We're not debating what we think you would sell him for, it's what we think he's worth.

His market value is irrelevant when we are not looking to sell him. As stated in a previous post transfrmrkt lists Sturridge as £25m market value. At that price I cannot see the club even considering a sale, it's going to take an offer £10-15m above his market value to consider a sale.

Oh please. Thanks for not exaggerating.
I like watching him score goals for Liverpool. Whatever money we'd get for him means nothing to me, it's not like I get to keep it.

You take selfies and then photoshop a fake moustache and baseball cap on them for comedic effect, your opinion is wasted on me.

Was hoping Chelsea signed Ben Arfa. He is bound to **** it up in the PL. could be decent for Barca off the bench or in the easy games the win by 4+

Also how do we know Sturridge is over his injury issues? He's spent mot of this one injured and hasn't been back long.
He's not over it.

If (obviously big if) he stays fit and his goals per 90 mins stat stays the same over an injury free full season then 40mil would be a fair price.

At the moment it'd be 25mil and we are probs not prepared to sell him for that at this stage.

West Adelaide Bloods, Man City.
He was crap in his last season for us, ended up getting benched (maybe his contract had something to do with that).

His 1 good season was when we came 2nd a couple of years ago.
his raw numbers stacked up against some of the best ever at the same age. he isnt even 22 yet. we're not paying for a season, we've paid for the 10 ones coming along.

i hope we end up paying the full amount. every club does. but most of the fee, if not all, that liverpool have received so far, has gone into benteke. and i know who i'd rather have moving forward.

Yep can definitely understand that it was a transfer based on potential. The 2013/14 season was a glimpse of that.

I prefer to say that our money went towards Firmino. We'll be getting some of our money back on Benteke soon.

It went to Firmino who is a better player than Sterling.
