sterling has 10 assists.

it's 11 goals 10 assists in 2981 mins (sterling) to 11 goals 11 assists in 3167 mins (firmino). so basically dead even.
Anyone who's watched both will attest Firmino has been superior this season. He's scored goals when it counts and made the difference. I'm struggling to remember a game where Raheem the dream was "the difference" apart from when Federici gifted him a hat-trick.

scored the first against sevilla away, scored twice to make it 2-2 and 3-2 against gladbach (also assisted the first), first against watford, first against sunderland.

Firmino goals against City x 2 matches, Arsenal, United. 2 assists (3 really) in the EL semi final. Stats don't tell the whole story. IMO Firmino has made more of an impact on his team this season and at this stage is a better footballer.

no just the lack of surprise at sterling being given any credit for this season.

sterling clearly was better for the first half of the season, firmino better in the 2nd half. even.

This. Sterling started well then fell off a cliff. Firm started poorly and slowly but surely got way better and has had a cracking 2016.

Considering he was coming to a foreign league though, that's understandable.

I think Sterling is a great player, but I have no regrets selling him because we brought in Firmino as a replacement who is every bit as good. So it's all gravy.

Seville away is the benchmark for him. In fact champions league was his best performances. If he can put in those sort of performancrs on a consistent basis we've got a bargain.

I see you're still persisting in this "Federici gifted him a hattrick" fantasy

At least I'm not Bobby Madley
One of the West Ham sources who's pretty good on transfers mentioned an English Striker who's a transfer option for us in his weekly column today. ExWhuEmployee if you look on Twitter.

Batshauyi and Lacazette are still are top options, but we also got linked with Icardi from Inter also.
