In the wake of the Europa League final the rumour mill is now in full swing. Our transfer business this summer is shaping up to look something like this:

Probable Ins:
Matip (CB) - Free
Grujic (CM) - £5m
Karius (GK) - £5m
*Hector/Chillwell (LB) - £10-15m/£5m
*Dahoud/Zielinski (CM) - £20m/£10-15m
Gotze (AM/F) - £20-25m
*May be looking at 1 or both depending on outgoings.
Probable Outs:
Bogdan
Skrtel
Ilori
Wisdom
Lucas/Allen**
Teixeira
Alberto
Markovic
Sinclair
Benteke
Balotelli
**I'd expect 1 of these 2 to leave given the likely ins.
Would leave us with a squad potentially looking something like this going into 2016/17:

GK: Karius, Mignolet
CB: Matip, Lovren, Sakho, Toure, Gomez
FB: Clyne, Flanagan, Hector/Chillwell, Moreno, Smith
CM: Can, Henderson, Dahoud/Zielinski, Grujic, Lucas/Allen
AM: Gotze, Coutinho, Firmino, Lallana, Milner, Ibe
ST: Sturridge, Origi, Ings

In an attacking sense I think we stack up pretty well against the rest of the league both in terms of quality and depth in the front 4 positions. Tactical maturity and avoiding lapses in concentration in defence are the critical areas where I think as a team we'll hope to see the most improvement over the summer both from Klopp and Buvac's continued work with the squad and with the likely incomings. From what I've seen and read of them, Karius and Hector would offer a significant improvement in that regard over the incumbents.

Will be an interesting few months. Klopp has always had a great record in the transfer market when it comes to these 'shrewd', slightly obscure signings. Hopefully he's brought his magic touch with him to Merseyside.

Luke Shaw in back in full training at Manchester United, you may ask yourself what does this have to do with transfers? Nothing at all, just think it's pretty good news that he has got to this point after that terrible injury.
You could say that he will be like bring in a new player. Good to hear that he's back in full training.

Speaking of Man Utd players, Matty James is on the trail, ready to break into the squad for next season. Also remembering that he was the better of the two between he and Drinkwater the season before, if he can find that form again, we're going to have a lot of tasty CM options (provided Kante stays, of course).

Missing out on the UCL has thrown a spanner in the works for them, the Klopp factor might be strong but that throws the advantage back to Dortmund.
See I don't think the Klopp factor is that strong, I think the returning to BD factor is a lot more stronger, so it earning heaps of cash playing CL at plenty of other sides.

He can get himself a pay increase and play CL and will be relatively cheap for sides to buy.

I really hope we throw our hat into the ring, would be a really handy pickup to play wide opposite Sanchez.

Matty James was a prodigy. Unfortunately had 2 pretty awful knee injuries. Good to hear he's training well.

We'll see I suppose. Klopp certainly doesn't seem to think it's an issue, remarking recently that none of the players he's spoken to about joining the club hinge on us having CL football.

For a player in Gotze's position, I'd imagine the key motivation will be to get to a club where he can play consistently and get back to his best football again. Dortmund and Liverpool given the past connection seem the most obvious choices to help him achieve that. Klopp more so than any other manager knows exactly how to get the best out of Mario and I'm sure he will have been pushing that in their discussions. It helps that both sides will be pushing for silverware next year but to be honest, if he wants guaranteed trophies then he'd stay at Bayern.

Another factor is the big money that BVB have just spent on Ousmane Dembele. It remains to be seen whether that was an either/or scenario between he and Gotze. Look at their front 4 as it stands. Do you sign Dembele if you are certain that Gotze is coming, particularly given you know that as a far greater priority you will also need to spend money at CB and CM to replace Hummels and Gundogan? They have a finite transfer budget and having already signed Dembele I'm not sure that Gotze would be a priority for them anymore.

As for Chillwell, the reports have been pretty persistent over the last few months but I have to say I'm not sure of the logic in that from either side. It's been a real problem position for us over the years and I think we would be best served this time looking at a more solid, dependable type like Hector than another headless, attacking fullback like Enrique or Moreno, or a development-type signing like Chillwell. We have our own promising left back in Brad Smith who I'd like to see us get minutes into next season.

Why is Skrtel leaving? One of the very few redshite I don't really mind
He was never the most tactically astute CB and at 31 years old and after a couple of injuries he's lost the athleticism to cover that weakness. Been a great servant for the club (>300 appearances) but he's past it. Was 3rd/4th choice this season and with Matip coming in will be bumped down to 4th/5th. It's time for both parties to make a change I think.

Andreas Pereira has given Van Gaal a massive clip about breaking promises and looks set to leave the club is Van Gaal stays. Van Gaal promised him game time at the start of the season then didn't give him any. In Jan he asked for a loan, Van Gaal promised him gametime and he's played 49 mins all bloody season. In 13 games for the u21's this year he's scored 8 goals and had 7 assists from AM. He's twice the player Lingard is. Sack LVG already ffs

That kid really needed a loan, has a lot of talent and needs to be playing.
