That was a bullshit review. They missed the hot spot on the toe of his bat which was the spike, there was no hot spot on the bat.

There was no hot spot from the nick, there was one of the toe of the bat at the same time of the spikeHe obviously nicked it
He hit the ground well before the ball arrivedThere was no hot spot from the nick, there was one of the toe of the bat at the same time of the spike
We have been through this discussion before that the shorter form of the game is irrelevant to Test Cricket...Good to see Warner getting back into some form. Hopefully this translates well to the Test arena.
You can say that for non-established players, but Warner has proven to be a Test player for a good 2-3 years prior to the sandpapergate. He was our second best Test batsman behind Smith if I recall correctly. We have been through this discussion before that the shorter form of the game is irrelevant to Test Cricket...
Warner's technique is not good enough outside Australian pitches as he is no good on a pitch that isn't easy to bat on.
Please mr Morrison place a ban on the sale of all lollies, sandpaper, bottle tops and zips.He was in good form going into the Ashes and it meant stuff all
If the ball moves around he won't be effective. If it doesn't he'll destroy.
No, Warner has proved to be a consistently poor Test cricketer outside Australia. You can say that for non-established players, but Warner has proven to be a Test player for a good 2-3 years prior to the sandpapergate. He was our second best Test batsman behind Smith if I recall correctly.
I guess it’s a matter of opportunity and time will tell.
Those home and away averages could be used for any modern cricketer, an average of 35 outside Aus isn’t horrendous either. No, Warner has proved to be a consistently poor Test cricketer outside Australia.
Once again you refuse to look at the telling statistics as you again confuse the white ball with the red ball.
Warner only averages 34.5 outside Australia in Test matches v 59.6 in Australia. He is the definition of a flat track bully who is useless if the ball has any movement. It's why he is suited to the white ball as usually on batting friendly pitches like today.

Would be interesting to see how it would result if we take away the poor stats from the recent Ashes series. One decent 50 and the other innings were basically no-shows.Smith 57
S Waugh 56
Gilchrist 50
Ponting 46
Martyn 46
All gun players who performed well overseas as well as in Australia & didn't have a huge discrepancy between their home & away form.
Warner is a flat track bully who is an ordinary test player outside Australia.
All legends of the game and only one actually still playing, so completely missed the point.Smith 57

No player claiming to be a gun averages half away compared to home! All legends of the game and only one actually still playing, so completely missed the point.
Has played some good innings overseas too, just not as consistently as here which is why he won’t go down as a legend like Smith.
Outside of Smith and Kohli, what are the home and away averages of the other Test batsman in the top 20?
Correct, if it's not a batting friendly wicket, Warner is a walking wicket.Warner has done ok overseas where it's been Australian-like conditions.
Struggles on spin or seam friendly pitches.
He was actually in fairly poor form before sandpaper gate. He managed to make starts but couldn't go on with it.You can say that for non-established players, but Warner has proven to be a Test player for a good 2-3 years prior to the sandpapergate. He was our second best Test batsman behind Smith if I recall correctly.

The fortunes of the smaller nations rise and fall on their cluster of champions.Seems like every summer we play against Sri Lanka. They get less competitive each time.

Hadlee & Martin Crowe... Kiwis are good
Murali, Sangakarra, Jayawardene... Sri Lanka good.
Jayasuriya, Aravinda de Silva, Murali, Vaas, Ranatunga... Sri Lanka win a World Cup
They feel their absence more than India, Australia or England who usually have a production line of good cricketers coming through.
Those home and away averages could be used for any modern cricketer, an average of 35 outside Aus isn’t horrendous either.
I would be interested to see those stats for batsman outside of the big two to properly judge those figures.Break it down a bit further and it's not fantastic.
Averages 63 in South Africa, 63 in Bangladesh, 60 in UAE.
Averages 27 in Sri Lanka, 27 in the West indies, 26 in England, 24 in India, and 13 in NZ.
Apart from South Africa, that's an unimpressive road record.
