Going at 8 an over for the first 40 minutes was pretty good to watch.

Never been a fan of test cricket and never will. Have had ongoing arguments that cricket had to bastardise its game to remain relevant - first 50 overs ODI and now Big Bash. If it wasn’t for the latter two, test cricket would have died years ago.

Name one other sport that has had to totally change the game.

So you're not a fan of real cricket, yet you're on a cricket thread.

Just wasting our position, get 6-650, bat Pakistan out of the game and give them 3 and a bit days to save the test match.

No point giving Pak any hope of winning.
That’s actually the point of a declaration - to give the opposition team some hope of a victory. If results are zero chance of a win for the Pakistan, then they’d likely not play risky (leave or block all the balls) to avoid a loss.

Very rarely. Point is you're in such a dominant position that you're in a position to move the game on. Not to make a game of it.

Pakistan plays like that, and we'll win this test comfortably.

To be fair, this series is a pretty poor advertisement for international cricket. Pakistan don't put up much of a fight down here. Similar to Sri Lanka last year.

The media comparing Warner to Bradman, Ponting, Hayden, etc once again is pretty funny though.

Look I don't want to be rude but typically I've found people I meet who speak out about test cricket being boring tend to be vapid empty vessels themselves

Thanks a lot Pakistan. Now we're stuck with this cheating, flat track bully Warner for the foreseeable future.

It's like Mackay's customary early season good games against GC and St Kilda.

It's a bit like the Jumping mountain goats who fart when they jump --- it's not known if the jumping makes them fart, or the farting makes them jump.

That is the best thing I've read on BigFooty in a long time.

How good does Cameron Green look??

Love him or hate him, Warner deserves some acknowledgement..

From the debacle that was the Ashes performance, Warner's 5 latest international innings on home soil (3 T20s and 2 Test matches) currently sits at:
Batting average: 706 !
(4 not outs)
