Still think you need one more top class midfielder to win the league should you sign Cech & Aubameyang.
Let Arteta and Flamini go. Mikael to Sociedad with Moyesy. Mathieu to an assistant coaching role.

Rosicky should get a lot more time than he does. Honestly, if Arsene was willing to play him more than 5 times a season, he'd be like a new signing.

Not sure I agree about the mid, unless someone in the Vidal level became available for less than stupid money.

After the Demba Ba debacle it seemed unlikely we would ever get Cech from Chelsea. I think this one is happening due to mutual respect between Cech and Abramovich and wanting to let him seek out guaranteed first team football.

Its definitely Roman doing Petr a solid. They are apparently great friends.

I'm surprised José hasn't lost his shit over this, he must be fuming behind closed doors.

Not necessarily. I don't know why he'd mind, he's still got the number 1 keeper in the PL.

Decent competition. Marseille is one of the big clubs, but of course, all things considered, English money is where it is going to be, especially next season. In terms of growth, we'll offer more to him. One crucial factor is that Marseille missed out on CL, so it should be even easier. We should get it done, so fingers crossed.

Well, fair enough, but I we have the resources to make it successful. If he can actually use his height, unlike Wood, then I think we've got ourselves a sweet option on the bench. We've got some great mix and match options. If we're not getting Okazaki (and at £8m, I'm not too keen), than I think Kim would be good.

I'd say you're right about that, but the question would be if he would see more game time? For us, I don't think I can see it. I think he'll spend a season with the U21s. Sunderland on the other hand... could be possible. The thing is though, Swansea's academy is Tier 2. So his performances are coming against the U21s of Cardiff, Millwall, and Colchester, not the top tier clubs. What this is perhaps suggesting to me is that he's more likely to go on loan early in the season, perhaps to a promotion contender, or even against relegation battlers... oh crap. You know what, I think he could be coming Sunderland's way.

I don't think he'll do enough to crack into the Swansea lineup this season, I think he could go on loan to get proper experience, just to see if he can truly handle it.
Yeah it's valid. No way we could have compete with them if they'd made the CL. Hopefully we get it over the line!

Yeah you may be right. I'd rather another pacey striker if I'm honest. I know we've got Vardy and Kram but Nuge isn't really a poacher and Ulloa is already our big beast. Unless we sell, I can't see us strengthening up forward too much, which is probably why we're linked to Kim in the first place.

He wouldn't get game time in our first 11. He's best going on loan somewhere and remaining with Swansea. I wouldn't say no to the kid, I just can't see it happening.

Because we are making a rival better.

I can't see José wanting to give Arsene a leg up.
He should still be backing you in to be better. You've still got the better keeper (and squad) so he shouldn't be too angry). The Terry quotes are ludicrous anyway. No way Arsenal are picking up an extra 12 points from just getting Cech.

Arsenal fans - how many points did you lose to genuine keeping errors last season?

Btw, apparently Cech has received death threats from Chelsea supporters about the move. I sincerely hope that's not true.

Off the top of my head 2 at Southampton, 2 (arguably) at Tottenham, I'm sure there were others though. 12 points might be an overstatement but its certainly strengthening what is (IMO) the weakest position in our squad.

No doubt it's an upgrade for you but I doubt it's the difference between you winning the title and not. You'll still need to strengthen elsewhere to outdo Chelsea.

The death threats would just be stupid shit people say on social media, nothing would be aimed directly at Petr. I dont think thst moron should be taken seriously, everytime significant player moves this shit is said by someone.

Cech is more than just a great keeper, he's also a great organiser of the dfence (especially at set pieces) and will make Arsenal a significantly better side. I really can't see José being happy about this

Swansea comes to mind.

Oh, and the 2 points to Man City early in the season was a poor keeper effort too IIRC?

I agree this wont close the gap enough, for me they still need a better CF, a great DM and depth in the FB and CB positions.

Agreed, the hype that Cech will suddenly make us title winners is bollocks, still need some reinforcements at DM and striker.

Been having a chat about this in the Arse thread, FB and CB are ok I think. Between Bellerin, Debuchy, Chambers, Gabriel, Per, Koscielny, Monreal and Gibbs we have a fair bit of cover and a few utility players that can cover multiple positions. Definitely agree on CF and DM if we want to win the title though.
