Well actually we do have that kind of money available if we wanted to spend it on one player.

Not sure why a made up click-bait bid means we are desperate though.

Not sure how we blew the Pedro deal either, he himself came out and said both United and City were interested but Chelsea showed a lot more interest than both Manchester clubs. :$
You think United have 140 million pounds to spend on one bloke? Yeah, nah.

You clearly blew the Pedro deal. You were negotiating the deal for like three weeks. Chelsea came in and tied it up in like a day.

Jod, United are a listed company. Our finances are public knowledge. The club committed to paying 100% of NPAT on signings over a 3 year period. The club forecast 150m pounds on player transfers for this window. United have spent net 8m pounds so far. It's not hard. Chevvy and Adidas deals equate to 125m pounds alone. The club have publicly said they are not afraid to blow it on the best players in the world. C'mon man , don't be bitter

We do have that kind of money, preferably not on one player but we could if we wanted.

On Pedro, I'm just posting what he said. Sorry if you don't agree with him.

"I had offers from other English clubs - Manchester United, City and Chelsea, who were the club that more rapidly resolved my transfer and the one that showed more interest in me," he said.

Yet you can't get a deal for Pedro, a Barca outcast, over the line.

See post from Pants above. Do you think Pedro is lying? It implies that Chelsea wanted Pedro more than us. The window is not closed yet mate. If no further signings are made between now and then, i will be more critical than most.

Baffled why WBA would want rid of Lescott. Won their POTY last year iirc.
There's supposedly a dispute over the contract,

"Upon signing for West Brom in 2014, the defender penned a two-year deal with an option for a further 12 months. Sources claim an agreement between the club and the player was in place to trigger the extension option this summer amid interest from Aston Villa.

It is believed West Brom have since stalled on the agreement, angering Lescott, who has turned to the PFA to resolve the issue.

It is understood Lescott is considering taking legal action against West Brom for potential loss of earnings."

You won't see it for a while, I don't think any club will looks at spending much more than $100m on a player, but just because they won't doesn't mean they can't,
