Dutch papers saying Depay has offers from United, Liverpool & PSG. All willing to pay the asking price of €30m, United would be the clear front runners at this stage.

Marca reporting that we've made a £16.5m offer for Illaramendi who's apparently keen on the move. He and Pjanic are the playmaking midfielders we've been most consistently linked to over the last few months, either would be a good fit although given the choice I'd prefer the latter.

Liverpool are no chance.

He'll cost more than that. Double it.

Semantics I guess but for me a defensive midfielder is one who just breaks up the play. Illaramendi offers a bit more than that, particularly in his Sociedad days he was renowned for using his passing range to set the tempo and link up play going forward.

I really havent seen enough of Illaramendi to know whether he would be a good buy or not. Has anyone seen a lot of him and can tell me what he is like.

Pjanic would be good but he is so tiny.

The Depay rumours are interesting. But if we are battling with United and PSG. Well both can offer CL football and larger wages im sure. United also have the LVG connection. We'd be a distant third in that race.

If FSG allowed Rodgers to spend 50m quid on Illamarendi and Pjanic (25 each) that'd be a pretty sick midfield beside Henderson with Sterling, Coutinho and Sturridge in the final 3rd. Still need a decent backup striker but well on their way to top 4 next year.

A Spanish paper Five days a go said Arsenal was going to miss out on him because he wanted to stay in Madrid.

Arsenal have been linked with him since January.

It would certainly spruce up the midfield a bit and give Joe Allen less games which would be a good thing. Sturridge would still need help up top.

Looks like were signing Gundogan for around 30m euros, Sky sports says its pretty much a done deal.
Watched him play the other week, looks to be over his knee injury and seems to have worked off the little pot belly he gained during his year off! Fantastic midfielder, would be a great addition to the league and a front 6 of Carrick, Gundogan, Herrera, Mata, Di Maria & Rooney would be capable of playing some excellent football.
