Yeah I cant see him going somewhere where he is second fiddle.
Wouldn't make much sense. It's not like Southampton are in danger of relegation or anything. Not to mention he will still get the call up to the national squad from his season there.

Lallana would start plenty of games, no worries there. I think if you look at our potential options next season for those 2 midfield positions in front of Gerrard/Lucas; we might have Lallana, Henderson, Allen, Coutinho & Suso rotating through. All have vastly different skill sets and Rodgers has shown he's happy to switch things up depending on our opposition. If he's looking for a bit more solidity and ability to retain possession in midfield then he's gone with Henderson and Allen, if he's looking to blow teams away he's gone with Henderson/Allen and Coutinho etc. Lallana would be a great pick up for us because he probably gives you a bit of both. He knows how and more importantly when to press the opposition (this is fundamental to our game), and as an added bonus he obviously has a hell of a lot of quality on the ball.

Rodgers is a huge fan of Henderson (he's been integral to our title challenge and no player in our squad has played more games this season - not even Mignolet), his work rate and defensive pressure allows the considerable talent in our front 4 to play with the freedom they need and Lallana is probably one of the few players in the league who come close to replicating that off the ball ability. There's definitely room for both in our squad, and in any case best XI's are irrelevant really when you think about week to week changes in individual form, fitness, and tactical requirements based on the opposition.

Lallana would get games at Arsenal.

He'd play on the right in completion with Walcott or in the middle when Ozil rests.

-------Giroud

Cazorla--Ozil--Lallana

--Ramsey---wilshire

World class striker needed in place of Giroud & a DM to replace Wilshere, and its looking like a very decent line up indeed.

What's wrong with Wilshere?

Consistently inconsistent. The player behind him has to work extra hard as his defensive game is average.

Ramsey is playing his best football being able to get forward but he also has great positioning that works well with Arteta and Flamini.

I always thought his defensive side was his strength. It's not like he attacks all that often.

Perhaps I haven't seen enough of Arsenal lately.

If Ben Afra is up for sale, I'd love Liverpool to have a dip at him. I think he'd relish the opportunity of playing in our system. Always been a fan

If Pardew stays in charge, I reckon Ben Arfa's gone - reckon he would be a good get for you guys. Has to lose a bit of weight but with a bit of love from the fans and the manager, he'll get his confidence back and be back to his attacking best.

You guys were linked to him the last 2 seasons I believe. I personally hope we keep him, my favourite current player. Has been frozen out by the clueless kent that is Pardew

He'd relish the payrise

Don't want a fat waster with a crap attitude wasting their talent here

Of all the 'big name' players we have/had, I reckon Ben Arfa would be one of the least money hungry. He has ambition to play for the big teams but I don't think money is a huge motivator for him. Loves playing in front of fans who adore him (probably why he has stayed with us despite seemingly treading water).

I hope we can keep hold of him though :D

Lots of talk about Cavani to United, well I guess he is the obsession this market.

Going to cost a fortune, but I'd love us to go after him. The one that got away last season, we would have been hard to stop had we signed him:(

More reports coming out of Spain that Real are bidding 70m pounds on Suarez.

Liverpool should take the 70 mln and re invest in three young quality players rated 20 mln.. mmmm Markovic, Veratti, Ginter & Aurier will do me fine + the 70 million likely to be given to Rodgers for being inactive in last transfer window accumulated with this one. So Volland, Shaw, Micah Richards, Will Huhges, and two, three others... selling Suarez if done right is the cash-ola.

That's the exact logic that Spurs followed and look how that turned out. Not sure why you'd give up the best player in the Premier League for uncertain returns.

Spurs were unlucky with Lamela..but paid overs for Chadli & Fernandinho.. I think if done right to build depth into the squad and they can grow together like Bayern & Barca has is the best thing to do.

I agree with your thinking but Christ, how many players do you think you are going to be getting for 70 million?

Spurs picked up 5 with 100.

Its actually 140 million with the sale of Suarez.. Rodgers should get minimum 70 million for being inactive in last window without the sale of Suarez.

Liverpool wont be spending 140 million in a Window.
