I actually do think you'll get him, at a cut price also. Or he has that 25% sell-on clause should you not choose to buy him back.

Terrific business by Spurs either way, and a good move for Caulker himself.
Can't really remember how good he was on the ball. That seems to be a pre-requisite of Pochettino's teams that they play out of defence. The story had legs right after you got relegated but has gone a bit quiet of late

He's great on the ball, obviously the blokes around him clearly brought him down. He was playing with the likes of Turner and Hudson (who i doubt youve ever heard of :D) who just hoof it, he did carry the team a far bit. He does like a goal though, scored 7 IIRC.

QPR, Everton, Palace, Swansea, Arsenal and Spurs have all been interested but with all those clauses in his contract I think he'll be at Tottenham. He is a Pochettino type CB, and he does like building with local talent.

Growing number of reports in Spain over the last few days saying that Suarez needs to apologise for his bite before Barca will buy him.

As expected, Lampard is coming to Melbourne City before the MLS kicks off.

Source and I don't just mean the one being made in my pants right now.

Admittedly I've just read it in the Mirror but I doubt even they'd get this wrong.

Quotes from Schwarzer saying that Frank asked him about Melbourne and playing in Melbourne etc etc.

Yeah I read the article. I thought we were only allowed one guest player so not sure how Lampard comes unless he is our season marquee before a move to New York.

Yeah I did wonder that. Must admit that I don't know the A League rules particularly well in regards to that.

Each team is only allowed one guest player per season I believe. Time will tell I guess.

They still have an international marquee signing available from memory.

Correct we can still sign an international and an Australian marquee however I don't think we can sign another guest player which is why I'm thinking perhaps Lampard will be our international marquee. Unless the FFA is going to allow us a second guest player which I doubt.

Would they use it on someone who won't be there the whole season though?

No.

The club has said it will fill both spots. We could have Lampard for our season which starts in October and the US one starts in March I think so he could miss a few months of the US one.

Would be great if it happened!

It's quite possible he will join New York and have nothing to do with us. However I think they would want him playing somewhere as at his age taking 6 months off wouldn't be good.

It's the marquee we should be targeting though.

Debuchy to Arsenal.

Hope it isn't true but reckon it has some legs given Debuchy wants to play in the champions league again. The club have apparently put a $12m price tag on him (which so far, Arsenal don't seem to want to meet). One of the interesting possibilities I saw mentioned was cash plus Jenkinson for Debuchy.

We lost the 2nd best right back in the league.

a Decent 28 yr old for 8m is not what we (the fans) are looking for.

I think we all wanted Aurier, so this is a bit of a let down if true

Think you guys are selling Debuchy a bit short here. Was head and shoulders our best player (at least after Cabaye left) and is also being linked to PSG and even Bayern. I'd even argue he was better than Sagna (though I suspect I'd be outnumbered on that front!).

Keep in mind this is the same guy who is keeping Sagna out of the starting France squad at the moment (bar the Ecuador game where they rotated the squad).

Besides, don't you guys have that young former Barca kid (Balerin or something like that?) who has been earmarked as your long terms RB? Get 3-4 good years out of Debuchy and then he should be ripe to slot into the side. Debuchy has ample premier league experience as well over Aurier and is great value going forward plus very solid in defence (and awesome in the air haha).

What's wrong with Debuchy? Apart from an occasional undisciplined act, he's decent isn't he?

Must be big club syndrome Jatz :p

Statistically (according to whoscored at least), he was the best RB in both the PL and Europe last season. Whether that is necessarily true or not is debatable but that at least should show he isn't a slouch either!

I hope he stays because if we don't get Cabella, I'm going to get Debuchy for my new home shirt ;)

A league might just allow it. Change the rules or whatever. Be stupid to stop a great like Lampard playing here if he was interested.

Once Villa has finished his 10 game stint City can sign another guest player. You just can't have 2 guest players on the books at the same time. Imagine that's what will most likely happen as it would be a waste of an international marquee spot for a player who will be off in Jan.
