We really should be saying we won't do business over Suarez if Sanchez goes to Arsenal. It's a perfect opportunity for us to get someone that could somewhat replicate what Suarez does and it's not ideal that he goes to a direct rival and we're no closer to filling the gap. Has to be down to us to convince Sanchez to join though, just think it would be a really bad outcome if we miss out on him and take a cash offer, with everyone in the world knowing we have 75m burning a hole in our pocket.
 
I don't think much will happen before FIFA hear the appeal and act on that. Knowing FIFA and the fact they don't have a backbone I would not be surprised if Suarez has his ban greatly reduced (even though he admitted to it after lying and saying he didn't).

Barca would be stupid not to take the bigger offer for Sanchez. If Arsenal are bidding 32m and Liverpool value him at 30m then you take the money on offer.

Still think Sanchez is worth closer to 40m, would love if United offered that.

Exactly. I'd be very surprised if 32 gets its done. If he ends up at Arsenal, I'd suggest 35-40 would be closer.

Yeah! Was surprised by that myself Jatz! I guess maybe the thinking is if he comes good in the PL, the club can have a strong hand for when they sell him next haha.

Curtis Good signed a 6 and a half year contract when he joined and as most know, Mr Pardew got an 8 year extension after he led us to 5th a few years back. :drunk:

Not only does it look ugly it's hamstringing the club a bit by depriving us of vital matchday and commercial revenue from advertising. Mike Ashley doesn't even pay to advertise his own company/brands. Just another grievance many Toon fans have under his ownership :(

They can't stop him coming to us but they can certainly have some sway over Barca if they want Suarez that badly. I think it would be a bad move for them to do a cash deal and end up like Spurs last season, but I certainly hope we get Sanchez, think he will be very strong in the EPL.
 
Kroos to Madrid I can see happening, as well as Khedira to Chelsea, but can't see Di Maria going to PSG.

Sanchez to arsenal I can also see happening, but not for £32m, will be closer to £40m, that's about what he's worth.

They can try and sway them. I doubt Barca would let them bully them into anything though.

And then there's the awkward scenario of having a player that would prefer to be playing for your rival.

They should just keep Suarez.

Has he? As far as I'm aware neither the player nor the agent have said anything at this stage. All I've read is that Arsenal are the first club to have spoken to Sanchez's agent and while he's happy with the terms they have offered, there are several clubs (one of which being Liverpool) who are ready to make offers and will hope to convince him that their club is the right club to join.

I suspect that as we've seen in the past whoever offers the highest wages might have a fairly strong influence over his final preference, not to mention Barcelona will be looking to sell for the highest possible transfer fee, will that come from Arsenal? Who knows. I have a feeling both this and the Suarez deal will have a few more twists and turns over the coming weeks.

You're making an awful lot out of it. Wouldn't be the first time a player hasn't ended up at their preferred choice in professional sports. Can't recall many not giving their best at wherever they end up.

There have been a few articles that state Arsenal is his preferred destination if he leaves Barca, could just be his agent/Barca making up crap to get more cash out of LFC, who knows.
