Numerous tweets doing the rounds that PSG have accepted Chelsea's bid (in the region of 7-8m) for Adrien Rabiot and the deal is very close to completion.

Would be a great pick up.

Not that PSG will need him when they spunk 50+m on Pogba next summer.

Will be really happy if this move does get completed. One of my favourite young players at the moment.

Will be interesting to see whether he goes straight to the first team or gets loaned out.

We open up with a post-World Cup line and Germany midfielder Toni Kroos has told the press in Brazil that he will be joining Real Madrid. The Bayern Munich star is quoted by UOL as saying:

We’ve finished the World Cup in the best way
possible. Now I’m going to Madrid, so that’s two dreams achieved.

We've lost Lampard, Essien and Luiz from our CM group. Mikel and Ramires are rumoured to be sold.

That leaves us Matic, MVG(coming back from a knee), Fab(who'll play more as a 10 or in the CM when we play a 433) and Tiago. I think he'd be kept around and he'd get plenty of game time.

Probably sit in the back seat of the bus. :p

So I don't get carded I better contribute a transfer rumour: http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/footb...erpool-transfer-rumours-wilfried-bony-3849473. I hope we don't buy too many players, we saw last year with Tottenham Hotsperm that quantity takes time to group, just 3 or 4 quality players will do.

What's all this Khedira stuff? Surely no place for him with Matic.

He'd be perfect next to Matic in the pivot. He's a real box to box CM and they'd compliment each other, but getting him would really curtail the chances of someone like MVG getting enough game time.

I'd rather pick up another young guy like Rabiot, Giving us Matic, Tiago, MVG, Rabiot and Fab.

Then where would Fabregas play? If you say CAM then where would Oscar play?

khedira is the lyckiest guy in the world wins the ucl and 2months latter wins the world cup
Not that lucky considering he was brilliant all tournament and withdrawal due to an injury in the warmup. Quite unlucky if you ask me

I doubt he'll play in the pivot, He'll play in CM 3 of a 433(which we'll play a lot). He'll also rotate with Oscar in the number 10 role(when we go that way), which is needed as we played him into the ground last season(after Mata was ignored and shipped out:().

Competition for starting spots is going to be fierce this season.

Bony...

NUFC Tiger I see there is a few papers reporting that Emmaunel Riviere is on your radar, anything you know about that?

I remember years ago he was quite a talent and was seemingly destined for very big things but looking at his record it looks like he has stagnated a little, any interest from the toon you think?

He's a good player, but we'd have to change the way we play to accommodate him
I don't agree with this. As I said in the liverpool thread I think he is a victim of the mentality that someone good with there head and holding up play is purely a one dimensional target man. I think he is much more than that and a complete player good with his feet and finishing and passing.

My only concern is how he'd partner up with Sturridge as both would want to be the central man and Bony isn't interchangeable across the front 3 like we were used to with Suarez and can only play as the central striker.

I never said he is one dimensional, but we cross the ball the least in the whole league, we don't do crosses in a hope it hits someone's head, we cut teams up with precise passing and movement, but with Bony there, you're gonna have to if you wanna maximise his output. If you don't cross the ball then why buy him? He scored a very good percentage of his goals from headers from crosses

And he isn't slow but not quick enough on the counter like the likes of Sturridge Sterling and Markovic, that's the sorta thing we did to teams, we cut teams up with pace

It's the same thing when we had Peter Crouch, sure he's good with his feet, but not great, and with his height you feel like you have to hoof it to him.

Remy would be a much better fit but I guess he's asking for crazy wages. And if we really want a target man who's good with his feet, we just bought Lambert

He might get even luckier if the Arsenal deal goes through.

Yeah mate, from reports we are right into him and hope to have him (and Janmaat) tied up this week before the team jets out to NZ for our preseason tour! (Club reportedly wanted 3 open places on the plane and with Cabella jetting in, that leaves 2...).

Apparently he was Monaco's leading goal scorer last season until they brought in Berbatov and then he barely played after that/was forced to play wide (so his goals dried up a bit). As you say, he was very highly rated as a youngster but according to watchers in France, was one of those youngsters who lost their way a bit when they saw big bucks in their bank accounts. Apparently he started off really well at Monaco but after scoring 4 goals in his first 5 games, the media started pumping him up again as a possible full international and he lost his way again.

He's only 24, has pace, strength, aggression and technique so has the physical tools to be a success in the EPL - I'd still like to bring another striker in if possible given how threadbare we are upfront but when all you have is an injured Cisse, 2 young local lads and an unproven Spanish youngster from the Spanish second division, just about anyone would be welcome!
