Well if people weren't blindly bias and actually admit their club is just as bad as others, it wouldn't be an issue.
not blindly bias at all. this was a rare time the league was won differently to going out and splashing cash. It hasnt happened since and United are as bad as anyone now buying players for ludicrous money.

I of course hope United dont buy DiMaria but even if they do they will still be weak through midfield and down back.

If they buy him, 2 top class defenders and a top shelf CM. Then ill be worried.

United will probably end up like us last year(hopefully finishing a bit lower!), in that they will be scoring a lot but look like conceding to even the shittest of teams.

We definately need Di Maria, our 3 main attackers RvP, Rooney and Mata arent that quick, Di Maria along with Januzaj would give us the pace missing from our attacks since the days of Ronaldo and good Nani.

Do you understand how formations work?

duncan castles with the stunning clickbait saying we're telling di maria to hold off moving so we can make a bid.

only the small problems of

1. don't need him
2. can't afford him

duncan castles loves a clickbait though.

Di Maria plays on the right I presume, Mata is suppose to be there somewhere in the hole or on the left, then there's Rooney and Van Persie. If they buy Daley Blind then I assume he partners Herrera in midfield

Blind would have to be the 2nd coming of Makelele to hold all of that together on his own, severe lack of fight in the midfield

Whats wrong with Herrera and Blind/De Jong? Pretty balanced midfield

Now, somebody explain to me where Rooney plays. And for the love of God, don't say in the hole, and Mata on the left. Mata isn't a ******* winger.

i don't see where di maria fits into a 3-5-2, van gaal needs to play a 4-3-3 to get the best out of him.

personally in a 4-3-3 i'd play him in midfield. but with utd's current midfield options you probably can't. di maria might be able to make it as a wingback due to his work ethic, but i have no idea whether his defensive contributions would be up to it.

i don't think utd's particularly need him, or that he should be their most important in terms of fitting him where needed, but it seems to be a signing of financial muscle. a 'we're still here' type of signing. if he's the last signing utd make this summer i don't think anyone in the top 4 will be too worried. still many holes in that squad, and di maria can't possibly fill them all.

Rooney will probably play from the left drifting in. Similar to when Bebatov or Tevez was leading the line

De Jong would be a different case, but he isn't exactly gonna be full of legs as he ages. Blind battles manfully but he isn't a top class holding mid

Herrera does his best work going further forward, I can't see how you can play him then have Mata at no.10.

Di Maria's fine wherever I guess, but it's still the matter of fitting both Rooney and Van Persie together up front somehow. One of them's your captain and another is Van Gaal's favourite, who's gonna get dropped

Then you have either Jones Evans or Smalling at centre back, Rojo we'll see how he does at centre back.

It seems pretty unbalanced still, it's up to Van Gaal to make it all work in a functional system

RVP-Rooney
Januzaj-Mata-Di Maria
Blind/Herrera
If Herrera is your deepest player in midfield then every team will be licking their lips
