Hopefully this stops the stupid Cole to Liverpool rumours. Worst rumour of the summer so far. Why we would want a washed up LB who also wants massive wages is beyond me.

Liverpool have 0 interest in Cashley.
Agreed. Especially as we can get Rodriguez for only about 10m.

Not sure why he would?

Despite scoring a screamer at Old Trafford? And scoring against three Premier League clubs in one of the best goals/minutes ratios in the league?

Not really, highlights how ridiculously even our goal spread was. Off the top of my head we had Fryatt 6, Davies Hudd Jela 5, Long Livermore Meyler Brady Sagbo 4.

Would much rather that sort of spread than one player scoring 20 and the next best getting 5 like what QPR essentially had this season.
Well you did tell him he wasn't healthy enough for your club and 12 months later you apparently want him back.

He scored one good goal. He had a great goal to minute ratio because he didn't play a lot of mins. Think Adam Le Fondre from the previous season.

You shouldn't have to be relying on the rest of the squad to be scoring goals. I have no interest in discussing this point further as it's your club and what I think about it doesn't matter.

You don't want him but obviously LC like what they saw and think he can do well in the PL.
Yep. I imagine they were hoping they could get him for a small price and that he could play a part. I can't see us spending the money you're asking to get him though. While he is worth 6 mil to Brighton, he certainly isn't worth it to us.

It probably wasn't smart for your Chairman to come out and say you've got a 180 million pound transfer chest over the next 3 years.

Any club in their right mind would ask for overs once hearing that.

A medical team assessed that he failed a medical test, and Bruce immediately came out expressing how disappointed he was and how sorry he felt for Austin. Why would there be ill-feeling?

That's kind of my point. Barely played and yet still scored 6 goals.

Fair enough, why bring it up then?

Yeah valid point. Admittedly the 180 mil is for more than just transfers but the point remains.

It was Hull's medical team wasn't it? He made them look a bit silly over the course of the season as he scored a large volume of goals.

He played plenty of Cup games. I just rate him at a Championship level. Once again, just my opinion.

Because I thought the statistic was interesting.

Mauro Zarate's brother / agent reckons we're signing him.

Top scorer for Velez in the Argentinian League last season, but fell out with team-mates / management which is usually the way for him.

Also, I'd expect Morrison to definitely be on his way out after the Fat Sam news yesterday. If he's after regular first team football in the EPL, I'd say maybe Newcastle or Swansea would be his best chances of that.
Would have Morrison at Newcastle if he was interested. I'm really hoping we can get Cabella pulling the strings in the middle but Ravel's creativity wide would be very welcome if we do end up selling Ben Arfa.

Looks like we are close to our first signing in about 18 months!

Newcastle United set to sign Ayoze Pérez from Tenerife for £1.8m - more one for the future but given we need to replace nearly the entire strike force, could be a handy 3rd - 4th choice.

Also apparently back in for Gomis (again) who is available on a free transfer. Wants a bit of money though...

And then broke down in January? Yeah, real fools.

Yeah, those 17 goals he scored wouldn't have been welcome at Hull because he had an injury in January.
You're the only person I've ever spoken to that refuses to admit his club ever makes mistakes.

I have repeatedly said I regret us not signing him. But I will also stand by the fact we didn't sign him because he failed a medical. I'm really not sure why that is so hard to understand.

He failed a medical and then broke down with injury for half the season. If we had signed him after he failed a medical and he had broken down, I find it hard to believe you would not be sticking the boot in for the club being stupid enough to sign a player who failed a medical. And then if I defended them because he's a good player you would have similarly trotted out your 'why don't you admit your club made a mistake' line.

I didnt say anyone was better than the other. I just said I wouldnt play Cole in front of either Enrique or Flanno. What is the point of playing Cole now? We are a young side, full of pace and and energy. Cole is what, 34 years old? How does Flanno get any better if we buy Cole and play him.

It's a moot point anyways. Liverpool have 0 interest in signing Cashley.
So Flanagan and Enrique are also shit?

My point was that your failed medical all seemed a bit fruitless after he scored more than your strike force combined. (Yes I'm aware there are mitigating circumstances.)

Forget I said anything, I'm not interested in derailing a thread to debate an irrelevant topic.

You seemed pretty set on it by questioning me about it for about a 20th time this season.

If he leaves it will be for Everton, I'm still convinced we won't sign a striker.

Hmm I dunno if Bamf (that's his nickname now) is up to it yet... I think I'd prefer to see him get a loan to another PL team. If Derby get up, him going back there would be perfect.
I guess a third in line striker isn't going to play much in our system, he'll probably get a few cup games and maybe the club may think it's benefital for him to be training in the squad. He sounds happy to do it, which is half the battle and would probably end up going out on loan come January.

Sounds like he's got his head screwed on properly.

Liverpool, Norwich and Sunderland all interested in my boy Matt Grimes (Exeter City is my team). 18 years old, played 35 or so games this season and always seemed a class above the rest of the players and should have a future at a higher level than League 2, but Exeter is his hometown club and just signed a 2 or 3 year contract so he wouldn't be in a hurry to leave. Exeter is owned by its supporters so we have never been in a good financial position so everyone's saying that it won't take much of an offer to buy him, but seeing as we finished 5 points off relegation last season, we need as many good players as possible. Thoughts on how much these clubs would be willing to pay?
