Matthias Sammer (Bayern Munich sporting director) says Bayern don't intend to sell Shaqiri: "Xherdan is an important player for the future"

@XS_11official: I live in present... Not in future....;-)

So we know what Shaqiri wants then..
Quality response from him.

LVG probably doesnt rate him if he's picking Kuyt at RB

kuyt played left back

apparently mangala is done again, fee around 32 mil, wears number 20m, reports to training on aug 4th

overpaid, but it's porto and we havent gotten much wrong since txiki and ferran took over. he's only 23, seems to have a really good attitude and will have 2 very good cb's to learn from

I thought it was Eric Djemba Djemba?

Maybe they are a trio of brothers? :p

I basically just asked for the source...? And I hate Newcastle as well sooo...

Cardable offence in these parts my friend! :D

Janmaat!!! Get around him!!

Guardian Hawk - it's happening mate! Up the Oranje!! (hope that's the right expression) ;)

Feels like Christmas in July :)

Debuchy can go join the gooners now - might happen overnight.

€6m is the quoted fee? Very decent piece of business. The proposed Debuchy sale well and truly covers this (~£10m has been the reported number).

Pardew still has a very punchable face by the way.

Yeah, seems to between $5-6m which is pretty good all things considered given he's younger than Debuchy and coming off playing RB for the Dutch at the WC. From a few Toon fans who follow the Eredivisie, he is probably more solid defensively than Debuchy but not as dangerous going forward. Might take him some time to settle in and adjust to the pace and power of the English game but hopefully will be another Graham Carr gem in the coming months/years! The remaining funds should be going towards a striker (Riviere) which is also sorely needed.

Don't worry glenferry - if Pards struggles to do well with the team he's getting, Cashley might give him the flick :)

Debuchy will be a great addition for you guys. In a better team, I can see him taking his game to another level. Genuinely wish him the best of luck and will be rooting for you guys when you play (just as long as it's not against us!) :D

Is he taking a pay cut? There's no way Besiktas could pay him €100k p/w
He's on 80k pounds p/w so not sure what the story with that would be. There was strong talk that he would be heading there on a season long loan with Bestikas paying a large portion of his salary but all parties have now decided that a sale suits them best.

now my portuguese isn't brilliant, but i think it's saying that benfica get 12.5 mil euros, and the other 50% is owned by someone else

Rough translation
Serbian Player of 20 years will act by Liverpool in the next season. The Benfica SAD announced this Tuesday that it has reached agreement with the Liverpool to sell the pass of Markovic by 12.5 million euros. In a statement to the CMVM, the Benfica SAD that "reached an agreement with the Liverpool FC to transfer the title of definitive sports rights and 50% of the economic rights that had the athlete Lazar Markovic".

Hrmmmm......very interesting wording in that.

the Benfica SAD that "reached an agreement with the Liverpool FC to transfer the title of definitive sports rights and 50% of the economic rights that had the athlete Lazar Markovic".

So who owns the other 50% of his economic rights? Did Benfica do a deal to keep 50%? Markovic himself? Did Liverpool acquire the other 50% in a different deal?

it would all be one deal. his release clause is 20 mil so the other half will go to third parties

liverpool would be either forced to deal with these third parties, or part of the deal already has it agreed. either way, liverpool effectively own the player.
