LOLWUT.
"Let's assume that player who has played 60 minutes in the EPL is superior to player who was best midfielder in team who finished second last season."

Henderson was quality in the EPL too. In fact he was the cog that made the whole team turn. The whole team that nearly won the league and scored over 100 goals.
Im not saying Henderson isn't quality, all im saying is so is Herrera and its way too early to start the who is better based on 3 games in the EPL for him as if you took his form the past 2 seasons in La Liga then it wouldnt be clear cut as Herrera was excellent there.

It's expanded from a rivalry to an obsession by a few of the pool fans on here.

Stinks of fear. I'm not even really including you in that as you have the ability to discuss things although liking the sad posts takes points away from you. ;)
Trust me it's not fear. I fear Chelsea and City. Absolute world class squads those two have.

In fact that is as good as comparison.

Chelsea's attacking players - Hazard, Willian, Costa, Remy, Oscar etc etc
City's attacking players - Aguero, Dzeko, Jovetic, Nasri, Silva etc etc
United's attacking players - Mata, Di Maria, Rooney, RVP, Falcao.

Chelsea's midfield players - Fabregas, Matic, Ramires
City's midfield players - Fenandinho, Fernando, Lampard, Yaya
United's midfield players - Herrera, Blind, Carrick, Fletcher, Anderson

Chelsea's defenders - Terry, Cahill, Felipe Luis, Zouma, Ivanovic, Azpi
City's defenders - Kompany, Mangala, Demichelis, Sanga, Kolarov, Zaba, Clichy
United's defenders - Smalling, Jones, Evans, Rojo, Shaw, Rafael.

The first comparison is fairly similar, all three teams have outstanding attacking players. The next two are horribly unbalanced. Chelsea and City have just as good players in central midfield and defence whereas United drops off horribly.

It's all ive been arguing. That United's squad is unbalanced.

Herrera has played 60 minutes of EPL football. I'd say it's a tad more ridiculous to suggest he'd walk into Liverpool's midfield and is better than Henderson. Henderson is a proven commodity. Herrera is not.

Yeh La Liga is such a crappy league isnt it.

So Herrera was excellent for a mid table side in a different league. Whereas Henderson was excellent for a top side who almost won the league which just so happens to be the same league. The EPL.

Herrera would not walk into our midfield. Henderson as of right now is the far better player. He has had a cracking start to season too. 2 assists already in three games.

Because signing is always permanent, a loan isn't a loan signing, oh wait

I'm alright with him not joining the Mancs permanently, so they're left with an aging Rooney and seemingly a latter year RVP shot by injuries
The protection of the loan if it doesn't work out is preferred to the massive outlay of a purchase.

Doesn't work he goes back to Monaco and we don't have to worry about recouping a massive transfer fee.

Tbh I dunno where this fear thing came from, Swansea Burnley and Sunderland didn't fear Man Utd, so I don't see how one signing of Falcao would suddenly tip the tables. They desperately needs a lot of runs on the board to have the rest of the league fear them again

Geez the last few pages have been horrendous. You both have good points:

let's give these new signings a chance to actually do something before saying it won't work.

United are a bit top heavy but let's let Rojo, Shaw, Rafael come back first and see how they fit into the side then perhaps we can critique their performances or Van Gaals tactics. Perhaps everything will work out with Falcao, Herrera, blind and Di Maria.

*sigh* where did anyone say Herrera was world class? He is better then avg, he is a quality mid who will take time to adjust to the league.
**** me. Personally i would take Herrera over Henderson because ive seen both play and i rate him higher. Doesnt mean Henderson isnt a very good player. Just personal opinion

Falcao really has little risk attached. If he only plays 3 months then does his ACL again and is forced to retire(absolute worst case scenario), whilst it'll hurt us for the duration of the season it's not as though we're stuck with a guy for 4 years. It's a loan with the OPTION to buy, we have a choice either way. It's a great signing.

Yep, pretty much this. If he stays injury free its going to be fantastic for us.

Mate you might want to give a guy more then 3 games in the league in this current team before making those conclusions. Herrera was quality in La Liga.

Works both ways. Possibly give him more than 3 games to say that he'd walk into another midfield?

never said he would walk into another midfield, just said i thought he was a better player. Will take time to adjust to the EPL no doubt. Wouldnt walk into the Liverpool side either. Henderson has runs on the board and they play differently anyways so its a irrelevant comparison in the end

Yeah but another poster did which is how that comparison came up in the first place. It's far to early to be saying anything like that about any of the new signings at any club.

You're right though it is irrelevant at any rate.

And if he doesn't we send him back to Monaco.

Loan deals are great in that regard. If he can't play for an extended period of time we'll be free to send him back.

It's great that the EPL is attracting top players.

Makes the league that much more exciting.
