I'd take that over a Victorian team any day.

Anything is better than Geelong, Collingwood or Hawthorn winning another flag.

Non-Victorian teams outside of West Coast will usually get my support if it comes down to it.
 
Not much to say right now. For 3 quarters our pressure and our cleanliness wasn’t at the level required. We thought we could get by playing 2 or less quarters of footy per game all year and it worked for a while but was never going to be sustainable long term, especially not in the furnace of finals footy.

Serong gives it his all every week, Reid is a superstar in the making, Pearce had an all-time 4th quarter. That’s all I’ve got positive to say right now.

Thank you Fyfey, you deserved better.

Nah. The reason why you don’t want a vic team to win is because the afl makes it easy for them. The afl has made it easy for the suns too because they need them to succeed. They don’t count as a non Vic team when the afl feeds them whatever they want.
 
I felt like we were beaten by Rowell. I’m only a mug punter but why, when NOD & JOM are contributing nothing don’t we switch one of them to a hard tag?
I sat right behind the goal tonight and watching from that angle every time GC won clearances or turnover ball they had players wide of the contest to move the ball laterally by hand then outside runners ready for the kicker to hit up and move it quickly.
I remain utterly baffled by our complete lack of strategy to move the ball from the back half other than a bomb down the line.
That & the amount of shallow entries to the top of the 50 had me pulling my hair out.
GC were the better team & deserving of the win but we played a terrible match until Q4. No dare, no run, no desperation.
Extremely disappointing way to go out.

I don’t think the afl world understand how big of a problem they are going to be in 2-3 years with every academy pick they have had and going to get. Going to be an absolute dynasty for years

Your grasping at excuses. Team played poorly for 3 quarters, that's isn't a move or a player to single out.
 
We are by far the worst team in the league of playing on after a mark or free kick and tonight was even lower than our season average. We have warriors in the backline but they just play a slow methodical kick across field or up the line a majority of times and we get found out. When we move it quick like in the last quarter the opposition panics but we just don't do it enough.

They also had a 15 minute stretch in the third quarter where they absolutely murdered us but were unable to capitalise. If they'd kicked one or two or those set shots we never would have gotten as close as we did.

We need a medium forward who can mark, win a ground ball & pressure. The 3 talls is not sustainable unless one of Darcy or Jackson are not available.

Treacy, Voss & Amiss play the role of 2 players & get the stats accordingly. Too often the ball goes in & comes straight back out because we are 1 short at ground level. They looked far more dangerous in their F50 when the ball hit the ground & were far more effective & efficient.

They had 3 players between 186-190 who compliment their 2 talls, we had Frederick at 183 complimenting our 3-4 talls. We need to change that because our pressure in F50 will not win us a premiership.
 
On a lighter note, came across Ben Browns final minutes reaction ..seems he grew up a Dockers supporter so felt like he was one of us... disappointed

Absolutely. I hope Geelong win. I like the coach and players. Can just shrug my shoulders and say, oh well, they won it again.
 
Big positive from tonight's game was Erasmus (assuming he re-signs). Competed well against a top-tier midfield group, scored a peach, and showed good decision making with a deft touch. His continued growth, alongside Johnno will give us a very even midfield group.

The areas for growth in this team are massive. Disappointed but as the saying goes, "this too, shall.pass"
