If 7 get the rights, 5:10 games on a Sunday Night could be the norm. 7 could show a game live from Perth or Adelaide into Melbourne at 5:40 (like they often did with Crows games in '93/'94) or a 30 min delayed game from Melbourne into Melbourne at 5:40. Show a game at 2pm, have the news at 5, then the night game from 5:30 leading to the Sunday night movie at 8:30. No more glorified double headers like now with Nine, but the real deal.

I miss those Sunday night telecasts. Early Sunday nights are curently usually spent over a couple of lagers at the local, watching 30-45 second replays of each match on the news, before some jimmied up karaoke show comes on full of w@nkers trying to be Johnny Farnham. It should be the last wind-down to the weekend, sitting on the couch, party pies straight from the oven, missus anticipating the last drop seeping from your can, Tiges getting up by a couple of goals over Port at AAMI stadium. Bring on Sunday nights.

Don't worry about that, he's getting a holiday. Sensibility and normality may return to the board before too long.
