Hey guys with the end of the year almost upon us the AFLs 'night of nights' the brownlow medal again throws up some interesting questions

Will Tom Mitchell win only a few years after sydney traded him pick 14 in the draft?
Did Andrew Gaff cost himself a brownlow medal?
Could this be the first ruck win since Scott Wynd?
Could a player from the wooden spoon team win the brownlow?

How will the Suns players go.

Let's hear your thoughts on two suns related questions

1. Who is the all-time leading brownlow vote getting currently on our list
2. Which Sun will be awarded the most brownlow votes - sportsbet odds are wide open with 6 different players $8 or under to be our leading vote getter on the night.

The answer to both questions is David Swallow?

Well the question didn’t say most in our colours ;) just most all time votes for players currently on our list.

Aaron hall and lynch tied for most in suns colours still on the list 27 a piece.

But there is another guy who has more career votes... it’s not Pearce Hanley.

Was amazed that David swallow only has (from memory) 11 votes from 110 games.

I’m putting my money on David swallow this year. Was really good the first few weeks we were winning.

I guess Mick Barlow got a fair few votes at Freo.

As for this year, I don't think anyone will get many. Sexton could be in front.

Micky B it is.
50 Brownlow votes from 140 games.
23 more than anyone else.

Sexton will get some votes but his best games haven’t been in wins.

Interestingly the betting markets show:
Swallow is favourite
Aaron Young second favourite. He’ll get 3 votes against Sydney you would have thought but I cannot see another game where he gets any.

Sexton, Weller, witts, Lyons, touk the others in the betting mix.

I’ll say swallow 4-6
Miller 3-5
Lyons 3-5
Young 3
Weller 2-4
Sexton 1-4
Witts 0-3
Lemmens 0

It’s our lowest ever total
Hawthorn with 6 votes in 1928 lowest all time
Melbourne with 16 in 2013 lowest in recent times

Not that it’s a massive deal as umpires know * all, but it does highlight our lack of star power. Real A graders. And Gaz probably pumped up our numbers previously more than what they otherwise would have been.

I don't rate longmire as a coach and I'm hoping that Dew isn't an acolyte because there may be some disturbing parallels to draw in the way that Tom Mitchell was treated at the Swans and the way some of our players were treated this year
