Umpires are idiots
Watch Sam get pinged for holding from now on and Naughton get multiple softies
All because Beveridge threw Sam under the bus
Weak response from Dew-I know why it was weak-he was trying to play it down but he should have said something like
"You'd hate to think the Bulldogs coach's comments won't influence umpiring decisions down the track because that footage has been viewed from every angle and dissected by every commentator and the unanimous opinion was that he was playing fairly and showcasing elite backman skills.I think Luke might wish he hadn't thrown our player under the bus without proper cause"

Cannot overstate how much I love reading this from an ex player and parent of our player. Our club has come a ****ing long way in culture/youth development and it makes me proud. Russell sounds like a ripper bloke too from this and the video on the site.

Suns report from 2:45 onward in the video below. Benny Ainsworth spoke well when he said they're focusing on striving for continued improvement but of course want to play finals this year.

“We’ll prepare for their best as well ... anyone can beat anyone.”

Dew said his Suns side – currently on 20 points and just one win outside the top eight – had matured.

“Now they’re starting to understand where each other are in space, what they do under pressure, who they need to support, and who are the key drivers,” he said.

“I feel like we’re still building and we’ve just got to keep our foot on the throat really and hit this Saturday afternoon with everything we can.

“We’ll just keep our focus on what’s in front of us in the short term.”

Dew welcomed Saturday’s predicted forecast of more than 30 degrees.

“The hotter the better as far as we’re concerned,” he said.

“We train in it, we’re used to it. The surface (at TIO Stadium) is fantastic (too).”

Can't underestimate the value of consistency in team line up.

That first goal to Rosas on the weekend a simple example.
Long ball to Casbault, Ainsworth at the front of the pack, not a perfect but an instinctive handball in front of Rosas running onto his left to dribble it through.

Everyone showing great situational awareness and making use of each others strengths.
I don't think you would have seen that play a year or two ago.

We are so much more stable as an organisation and I believe that trumps everything in every organisation. Dew will succeed and develop. I am backing him.

Mark Evans MVP
As long as we come away with the win on Saturday this trip To the NT looks like it has been the most amazing bonding camp
Just have to win

This has been updated since I last posted it.

The Herald Sun understands Suns are now close to signing a new deal with Jack Lukosius and are even attempting to secure him on a deal longer than the expected two seasons.

It is another coup for the club after Ben King’s signature and Izak Rankine wants to stay and surely will.

Is this online anywhere?
Clubs are excited by the progress of fellow Suns Darwin academy member Joel Jeffrey, but he signed a four-year contract upon moving to the Gold Coast.

It happens sometimes, usually Father/Son (Daicos signed 4 years) and sometimes high profile academy. But its a choice. Doesn't happen too often.

Levi Casboult will clearly get another one-year deal and likely a pay rise on a current deal of around $100,000 plus match payments, although there is nothing doing on that front yet.

Surely his good mate Liam Jones has to be a consideration as a cheap free agent with Rory Thompson injured again and Mac Andrew only a kid.

Key defender Caleb Graham has some Melbourne interest but is in talks and should stay at the Suns.

On the agenda:
• The performances of the team in recent weeks and expectations on the run home.
• We reveal the key items Gold Coast will raise with whoever the next CEO is, including broadcast timeslots, marketing and more.
• The shift by AFL pundits that has many now backing in coach Stuart Dew. When should the club look to re-sign him?
• What club bosses think about a Tasmanian team.
• Sean's big idea! a revolutionary 'Magic Round' and how the AFL should introduce a brand new State of Origin concept.

The state of origin concept is rubbish
