I have a mate, who is a Geelong supporter. He reckons if he was working for the Cats when GHS left, he'd have said something like "We'd like to thank George for his contribution to the club. He's been a great clubman & we wish him all the best for the future. Like we always say, when someone leaves...but this time we mean it!"

Quick. Signup 2MP now before the rest of the comp see how good he really could be, especially if last week's practice match is anything to go by.
For me he was one of, if not the most important re-signing for us structure wise this season. Will straighten us up and play an important role as our maturing key position player.

AFL TONIGHT reporting that both Max and Ben King will extend their contracts with respective clubs!
Sounded like the reporter (think it was sam landsberger) had no news to break so just made up a story because he said Ben kings manager robbie d'orazio (also scrimshaw manager) had a habit of re-signing his players that go to the Gold Coast for a further 2 years

Wouldn't be any point in mentioning it if there was no truth to it. But that was the plan, for the extensions for these young boys to start within the first few months.

Wouldn’t be any point picking a player up if you weren’t planning on re-signing him long term

We've seen that a contract means absolutely nothing so can't see any downside as a young player to signing an extension and getting more guaranteed money. Especially when tall guys can be injury prone.

Nevertheless very positive news.
