I went to the Gabba in 2007 to watch the Lions annihilate us and Pagan's coaching career come to an end. Although he will coach next week, I feel like I just watched Ratten's coaching career come to the end. It's not all his fault, this Jeckyll and Hyde team gave him hope the penny had dropped the past few weeks and then they go and troll him like that.

What is Ratten's fault, is the russian roulette he plays with our structure. No room for error when your key defenders are White and McInnes who are third defender size. Whenever we go in with no backup and lose a tall early, a terrible game is bound to follow. He took the odds to our mobile lineup never letting the ball get to the Suns tall forwards. The problem there is that when the midfield is off, your tall defenders can minimise the damage until the midfield starts turning the tide.

Woeful skills and insipid half efforts were the order of the day. Not sure how it looked on TV and I was down one end of the ground, but the only player I saw trying to do anything was Judd.

There is a bit of a theme appearing with QLD being a bit of a CFC coaching graveyard.

I waited a day to vent in hope that I would calm down a lot more but it didn't work. Last nights performance has made me so embarrassed to be a Carlton supporter, the performance was an absolute disgrace with only 2-3 players looking like they were there to play football and not piss fart around. Well there goes our year with a loss to the suns. I just hope those 17-18 players who helped Ratten to lose his job, because he will after that performance, are able to sleep at night because it was 100% their fault.

Lets not kid ourselves, season was over before it ended. Our bubble of expectation and hope grew a way too big for our boots (myself included). No point crying over it now. expecting the club to do serious debrief post match, because majority of the 22 brought along their handbags to the match.

I'm not taking the piss here as we have been beaten twice by the Suns in Cairns but do you think it could of been the conditions? Not all grounds in Queensland are up to scratch like the Gabba which is a beautiful ground all year round.

I could see watching your game, that they were a tenacious little bunch, those Suns. I think that both our teams did not pay enough respect to them. They know their ground, and it's conditions, and they are adjusted to the climate as well. We were clearly thrown off at the start, and had our 'B' Team game face on.
Even after a they kicked a few goals, you could still feel an invisible smirk about our team. Like they know it wouldn't matter. But, it did matter. We've done this before. I'm disappointed that it still happens. Not a tough enough, disciplined unit. Where the fault for this lies, wiser footy heads will know.

Lack of key position structure - plenty of injuries but Thornton was available, yet Ratten and the MC are fixated with a team made up of 5ft 10 to 6ft1 running players. When we get the inevitable injury to one of our few talls then blokes like Gibbs, Duigan etc are forced to play on much taller opposition.
Mentally weak - the big win of one of our great rivals followed by a pathetic insipid effort the next week, this is our specialty.
Soft - unfortunately our most skilled players are also our softest.

Time for a clean out, Ratten has to go and most of the MC should get the boot as well. Need to weed out the list cloggers and soft players over the next 2-3 years before we can have a crack.

Soft as week old piss, too many weak players who never learn, love drinking their own bath water. Rattan needs to pack his bags and take a few players and staff with him. When was the last time we won four in a row? Will try to be constructive here - but watching the replay of your match it struck me that the Kreuzer experiment as a forward should stop. He is good ruck/extra mid like Dean Cox with the ability to be damaging up forward (not the other way around).

I'm surprised Carlton don't try to use their pace more (ie ball movement not leg speed). Against us you show pace but maybe a North Melb- gung ho style might suit you more. Gibbs should stay as your half back general as he reads the play well.

Not sure what you do about Warnock - he struck me earlier this year as a Mark Blake with skill-type. Doesn't give you anything beyond ruck contests.
Anyway thats my uninformed 2 cents. We have our own issues of course.
