I'll be interested in the opinions of people playing it once it comes out. Some videos look like heaps of fun, then some look like it'd get boring incredibly quick. Then that gif on the last page makes it look like a shitty Infamous.

Correct. I don't like Infamous either. That gif made it look like a shittier Infamous :p

I'm not bashing the game though. I'll only play it when I see a mate who has an Xbox, but the idea is cool and some videos of it look really fun.
Just everything released on it so far is throwing all kinds of question marks on quality up in the air.
My guess is it'll be fun though.

The general consensus I'm gathering from the reviews is it's a lot of fun.
Metacritic of 85+ easily
Not sure why people think it would get old quickly, sour grapes maybe?

It's because when you look at a video, you generally see the same actions - rail grinding, shooting, jumping.
So I can see where people are coming from.

But people say the same for just about every game, I think it's probably the most common criticism (rightly or wrongly).
But essentially it's all about personal taste and the way a game makes those same actions enjoyable/rewarding.

For Destiny some people love the grind, Diablo is the same, but again some only like 1 game while hating the other.
Looking just at the same videos doesn't give a great indication of any game, SO included.
 
Why must all criticism of a single platform game be 'sour grapes'. There are a couple of posters on this forum that always bring it back to what console they do or don't own.

I think the game looks great, always have. Give Insomanic the freedom to create something and they will make it fun with a killer array of weapons. I can see why thematically it won't be everyone's cup of tea, but it looks like it would be mine so I dig it.

I'm glad it is getting good reviews. Partially because I've always been in its corner and have enjoyed all the fun marketing trailers around it.

People who buy it, I hope they enjoy it and don't try and use it to fuel the same fan boy shit that happens everytime an exclusive game comes out.

Because that shit is about as entertaining as ebola.

My bad I really don't mean to come across as a fanboy.
I guess I am though so I'll refrain from comments like that.

BTW saw it in the Target catalogue for $68

Don't have an X1 but I have to say the game looks gorgeous. Love Insomniac as well, and it's always nice to see a new IP rather than a retread.

Don't have any immediate plans on getting a new console, but boy do I hope this (and the Halo collection pls) find their way to the PC in the not too distant future.
