Howzaat howzaat HHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH HOWZAAAAAAAAAAAAT ?

Oh god.. The amount of nostalgia I'm feeling right now is ridiculous.
My main man was J. Haliday. Absolute superstar! As would N. Power be, if he could run. ;)

I can't remember what sub continent they were in but If I remember correctly they had twins who I just called "Rat face" as they literally just looked like a rat.

Might have been a single player.

Heh. I remember old Rat Face.

Pretty sure he was from Pakistan and was a fast bowler so my guess is Elahi.

Knew you'd be right on this (bumped) thread, Pants.

I love a classic

I had 2 mates who i always played with. One who was devoted to N Valeri (aka Neil). He liked him more than he liked real life players and swore up and down that he always dominated. Yet every time either of us played against him, we cleaned up N Valeri for stuff all and absolutely carted him. This game provided so much of that though. Personally i rated Shaun Lontis and Fred Lesley as the best WI bowlers, even though their ratings weren't the best. Lesley used to clean whole teams up with LBW's.

Sammy Lontis and Kenny Botcher got the job done for me :thumbsu:

Bump.

With any spinner I remember holding down the L button, putting the ball full pitch. LBW every time. CPU never scored a run.

I didn't get a wicket every ball, but if I had a guy at cover and mid-off, and then just catchers, I would usually keep the opposition to a total under 10

Not that I ever really bowl anyway ;)

Got broken into recently, and the scumbags nicked my Wii...

Every cloud has a silver lining! SNES is back from the garage into prime position! First time playing on the big screen.

Best individual score I made was 671 from Halliday. Usually play as NZ. 'David' Bremner is my favourite bat, always opens with 'Tim' Mackay, 'Brian' Uniacke and 'Grant' Arthur follow...all lefties!

:D

Who is this "Grant" Arthur fellow? His name is Graham.

Bump.

I used to do a similar thing with the Aussie squad. 'Nick' Power, 'Johnny' Halliday, 'Benny' Aitken. ;)

Haliday
Connor
Ireland
Dixon
Power
Valeri
Borg
Simmons
Smith
Trinh
Webb

Gun team. :thumbsu:

I named Haliday, John, and Power, Nick too...but it was Bruce Aitken :cool:

I forgot Du!

I'm positive they were based on real players, even their photos had similarities.

Simmons = Warne
Smith = Hughes
Du = Healy
Trinh = McGrath
Connor = Jones (ridiculously fast)
Borg/Dixon = Waugh x 2
Valeri = Border
Aitken = Marsh
Parker = Matthews

I'd say so. Although perhaps not all the players (eg. Reynold).

Now do it for the other seven teams. :p

I've seen a website which reckons 'M. Parker' is based on the composer of the game, Marshall Parker.
A lot of them were named after people who worked on the game. The credits in the instruction booklet (for the PC version at least) share quite a few names with the in game players.

still got this game in my draw somewhere haha awesome game

This is game is the sole reason my SNES stays plugged in.

Great for a quick multiplayer bash.

We usually just do a quick 10 over game, which means you get stuck with whatever team you are randomly given without the ability to make changes.

Would always switch G Ireland and R Connor to open, then have Haliday at first drop.

Bowling attack would be Scott and Trinh for about the first 8-10 overs and then use Simmons to clean up the tail end.

I once made 1000 runs with Connor

Nice! Test match?

I'm still yet to better my 671 (in a 50 over match) by Halliday. At least 3 times I've scored individual five hundreds, but never in Tests. Bremner was once stranded 499* for me in a Test was my best effort
