Nice team - what do you think Ball will average? based on the depth of the pies midfield and him returning from injury etc? and Bock is doubtful for rd 1

You have to have purchased it the year before to get early access.
So if you buy it this year, next year you'll get it early.
No go for this season.
 
Tell me what you think of this team. I still can't decide whether I go Selwood + Varcoe + Rookie ....vs... Mundy + Watts + Rookie. I just don't think varcoe will score that highly coming back from injury, even though Selwood is likely to...any thoughts?

Yeah that's a good idea. Mundy looks a good option. Althought it kinda leaves me with few midpricers that I can upgrade with Ball and Varcoe both out but I'll definitely consider it. Thanks.

with dt now having two trades a week for the whole season the game will be far less tactical
Ill still play dt but to satisfy my competitive side im jumping onto supercoach as well


Welcome me with open arms?
What are the key differences??
I know kicking to advantage and teams performances are included in scores somehow, teach me oh supercoach masters

Welcome matey!!
I suspect we will get a few DT coming over to the dark side!!

The main differences are:
- THere is are total points cap of approx 3300 points per game. So having too many players from the same side will restrict your scoring potential
- SC follows real footy more closely - the best players in the AFL are often the best SC players
- effective disposal is rewarded with more points, so pick players who dispose of the ball well!
- players receive more points when they have more impact on the game. So if a game is decided in the 2nd quarter than those players who scored well in that quarter will receive more points then in teh 4th etc.


I hope that is a good start! You will enjoy SC more I think as you need to think about it a bit more than DT

HMmmn so my blanket ban of Cyril Rioli for being a five minute player might not be so relevant in SC if he has a brilliant five minutes and is part of winning the game??

It will probably take me a season to get used to it, but i'll give it a go.

That's exactly right. Cyril's had a couple of big games based off exactly that.

Players from one team don't really steal points from their teammates. Yes, there is a points cap, but that means that the players you're likely to have steal points from the players you're unlikely to have - you'll end up with a bunch of really low scoring players normally, because they didn't really have an impact on the game.

The two big differences are clangers (-4 points, IIRC, so you want to avoid players with horrible disposal unless they mitigate that with the sheer amount of disposals they get) and contested possessions/clearances (some big + - this is how Ablett and Swan and Pendlebury can rack up huge scores).

As far as premos and mid pricers go this is scary similar to my current team. I better start thinking about adding some more uniques.

I liked your articles however with regards to Knights and the comparison you made with Maric, I don't think you can compare a ruckman which is a lucrative position in supercoach if the player is given starting ruck duties as Maric was given at Richmond with a forward flanker which is traditionally not a high scoring position, unless the player is given ample time running through the midfield, which I don't see happening with Knights.

With regards to Cotchin, I already have money on him winning the brownlow :)

Yeah I understand what you mean. I was just meaning to compare that our new recruits were given game time and increased there SC output
