My team post draft.

And just a little write up on each and why I have selected them and what I expect their output to be.

DEF
A.Rance - Being a Tiges supporter I've obviously watched both Rance and Houli a lot over the pre-season. I've seen Rance get a different role this year, no longer is he a 1 on 1 defender. He's been moved into a Brian Lake/Scarlett last 5 years/Josh Gibson role of an interceptor, sweeper, etc. Even while playing as a 1 on 1 defender he averaged 86 last year, with this new role I expect at least a 5-10 point increase, if not more.
B.Houli - Has seemingly improved all areas over the summer. Looks super fit, improved defensive abilities, is getting forward a lot more. Expecting a big improvement from him. Looks to be a 100+ average easily.
R.Murphy - One of the few older statesmen left at the Bulldogs now, so they will look to him to influence games both back and up forward. Not expect huge scores, but consistent 70-80 expected.
S.Fisher - The choice of Fisher over Watts could come back to bite me, especially considering Fisher has had a nasty off season. But Fisher at his best was an ultra premium so if he can provide those numbers potentially filling the Goddard role as well, then anything upwards of 100 per week is gettable.
M.Hibberd - Has seemingly been the go to man coming out of defence for the Dons over the pre-season. Looks bigger and stronger, also knows where to go to get the ball. I'd expect a 10 point or so increase on last years 73 average if he plays all 22 games.
(Bench) M.Golby - Another given expanded role in the pre-season. Was either him or Yeo and Golby seems to know where to get the ball a little more than Yeo. Expecting around mid to high 70's.

MID
P.Dangerfield - Could be a top 3 mid by the end of the year he is that potent. Gets contested ball, gets outside ball, kicks goals, is clean with his ball usage. Expecting anywhere from 110-130+ average.
M.Boyd - Super consistent, super reliable and one of the only genuine stars of the Bulldogs midfield. Might not always use it that well, but racks up the disposals like not many others. Expecting 100-110 average.
S.Sidebottom - Many predict a Beams like rise from him this year and that's enough for me. Had an outstanding first half of the season last year, but dropped off. If he keeps that up all year he'll be a 110+ scorer.
K.Jack - Super hard at it, decent ball user, can kick goals, great defensively. Has all the attributes and will keep the Sydney midfield as one of the toughest in the competition. Should average 110+.
J.Redden - Had a decent, if not underwhelming season last year, but still averaged a solid 102. If he and Brisbane truly are to rise, then Redden's score will jump as well. Could get up to 110-120+ if he really comes through.
H.Bennell - Bennell could enter elite status this year. 3rd year in the system and had some absolutely ridiculous scores last year (193 in round 19). If he can pull it all together consistently then we could be looking at a consistent 120+ scorer. Even though he had an up and down year last year as well he still averaged a very solid 97.
(Bench) M.Wallis - One that could step up or just be a very solid scorer as backup to my team. Needs to improve this year if the Bulldogs are to do anything.
(Bench) D.Swallow - Had the 2nd year blues severely last year, plus injuries didn't help. Should he stay fit I expect at minimum around 85-90 out of him.

RUCK
S.Mumford - Before last year he was a must have, an injury interrupted season saw him fall back and bit in the pecking order of SC rucks, but I see this man as a steal. If he plays all 22 games he is an ultra premium option that can do everything you want a ruckman to do. Expecting 100-110+.
M.Jamar - Unfortunately Bellchambers went just 2 picks before, so I went with Jamar as my 2nd Ruck spot. Is still the no.1 choice at Melbourne and based solely on that should get plenty of time to prove his worth. Should he play 22 games, I'd expect a solid 80+ each week.
(Bench) T.West - Who knows where West stands with a fit McIntosh and Vardy ready to be picked. But while those two are under injury and fitness clouds, West will likely stay first choice. A solid, if unspectacular player that should average 70+ if he plays.

FWD
L.Franklin - Could be the no.1 player, could be only top 15. Who knows with Buddy, can do everything one week and nothing the next. But generally a great scorer who is almost always in the goals. Easy choice pick here. Expect minimum 100-130 at peak.
L.Dahlhaus - Another Bulldog that needs to step up. Has the ability to be a high scorer, but is just very inconsistent. Should he get consistency into his game he can be a 100-110+ scorer. Expecting anywhere from 80-110 average.
A.Monfries - Speculative pick mainly based on a few factors. Can play forward or mid and with Port's relatively youthful lineup could be looked to do a lot of grunt work as one of the more senior players now. Never been a truly high scorer, but if he can get around 20 disposals and kick a goal or two per game he should provide a good 70-90 or so scoring range that I'll be happy with.
T.Varcoe - Very happy with this pick. Injuries saw him crash down the pricing range on SC and out of a lot of mindsets so getting someone like him so late in the draft is definitely a coup imo. 24 years old, fit and firing this guy can do it all. Tackles, gets the ball, kicks goals and knows where to go to get it as well. Seems like a role playing in Wojak's old position is destined to him which could easily see a 25 disposal 1-2 goal per game output resulting in a very solid 80-100+ per week score.
S.Byrnes - Looks like he'll get plenty of gametime at the Dee's and at his age will be looked to for some senior experience. Can run and carry and find the ball as well as kick goals. If he plays all 22 games, then 80+ minimum is the expectation.

So that's my team and what I think. Very happy all round, mainly got what I wanted bar for about 2 players, but otherwise still happy.

Juddy88 is the team to beat imo.
Pretty happy in the end, can't reay say I'm dissatisfied with any of my starting 22, and I feel my bench is pretty strong too; strategies worked out well. See how it goes, plenty of luck involved for this format!

Good luck to all, look forward to plenty of banter! :D

how's everyone's normal sc team going?

i've flipped it around so many teams and not sure which strategy i'll end up going with but i think my team looks pretty solid atm

Didn't think i could change a side 55 times but i guess i can lol
The Ruck is a question mark for me atm, do i go the cheaper option upgrade elsewhere? Or throw the cheapie on the bench and have an experienced ruckman not knowing if the cheapie will play?

haha yeah i know exactly what you mean...that was the last issue i was dealing with....i think i'm pretty happy with how it looks but you can never really know until it all starts can you

need to wait til teams are named to know if my rookies are solid options i think

last years VG board fantasy league grand final re-match is one hell of a nail biter and delivering on all the hype (yeah, yeah, shaddup) and is going to come down to the last player to determine the winner.
one player to go for Glenno23 and he needs an 88 from chris yarran in order to take home the chocolates and he has a projected score of 86 so this is going to be close!

who ever loses will be terribly unlucky as both of us will finish 2 of the top 3 scorers in the VG board league this week so an 87 would probably be the fair result. (i bloody hope he scores far less though! :p)

great league we've got going this year with plenty of strong teams :thumbsu:
can't wait to wipe the floor with dibikins mwuuuahaha :D
