Had my draft went Ablett at #2. Risky but if he gets back close to his best and stays injury free itll be worth it

We have waivers off but does anyone know if its possible to have players go straight into freeagency instead of having to wait a few days? It says they will be released at 12pm wednesday

Hold them on your bench for as long as possible and see if you can trade them for something decent otherwise wait until they come back

Our draft was last night. I ended up with pick 7 in a 14 man snake draft. My team in order:

Rockliff, Deledio, Parker, Greene, Laird, Boak, Cunnington, Brodie Grundy, Jack Riewoldt, Nathan Jones, Dane Rampe, Jack Newnes, A. Saad, Duryea, MacMillan, Petrie, Ceglar, Salem, Weitering, De Goey, Jesse Longergan, Darcy Parish.

Was well pleased to pick up Rocky at pick 7. First round off the top of my head were: Fyfe, Pendles, Ablett, Goldy, Danger, Jelwood, Rocky, Sloane, Hannebery, Stefan Martin, Callan Ward, Robbie Gray, Armitage, Lewis.

I've got 5th choice atm but that can change on the night.
Ideal result is Goldy at 5 but thinking I'll be forced to take Rockliff
2nd round best avail. forward so Martin, Barlow, Lids or Montagna hopefully
3rd round ruck. Would love Stef Martin or Jacobs but realistically Gawn might be there
And 4th round Rory Laird as D1

I'd be taking a Defender before a ruck, potentially even before a fwd. If you're not getting Goldy, i'd say ruck should be lowest priority, maybe even a rd 6th, 7th or even an 8th rd pick up. The difference between the 2nd and 8th best rucks really isnt huge. Assuming only 8 rucks are selected, you will get one of:
Martin
Sandi
Jacobs
Mummy
Gawn
Blicavs
Nicnat

They are all quality first choice rucks and will all most likely avg 100+.

Not sure if any of you guys have used this tool for your draft preparation but it really is amazing.
it applies value based drafting methodology to ensure that you accurately value where players should be drafted.
It takes into account the depth of players in a certain position, highlighting just how valuable those 95+ defenders will be this year.

Boyd slipping to rd 5 is a bargain, similarly Joey in rd 4

Interested to see how others draft - I've always tried to secure gun mids before I start looking at other positions, e.g. pick 3 mids before fwd, back. Does anyone else use this strategy or do they prefer to fill up their team one position at a time?

max 1 mid in first 3 rounds for me.
gun fwd/def are more valuable as there are so few. so many mids that avg over 105

need 2 captain options so take 2 mids but I wouldn't go 3. This year defenders are terrible so if u get a cpl 95+ deff you will be infront of the others straight away

Agree with toxic 100%

Captains in a draft are a joke and ruin a lot of the fun.
Rucks are far and away the lowest priority pick unless youre getting Goldy
the 8 that toxic listed will all avg 100+
