One guy picked up Waite in round 2 and has been killing it ever since. I lost to him in round 2 since he had Waite and Gibson :$ I traded out Redden for Hawkins so no real loss there.

Draft is definitely more fun than I expected due to having unlimited trades which leads to stupidity more than anything else. So far in the waiver/FA I've picked up Jack Martin, Tom Bell, Toby Greene, Zaharakis and Westhoff. Someone dropped Goddard after a week but I missed out on him. Would love to get Billings like you did. Whitfield has been sitting in FA all year and I want him but can't seem to fit him into my team.

Inter team trading is proving to be impossible though. Everyone just wants to rip people off. I've thrown out some reasonable 50/50 deals and been emphatically rejected every time.

Yeh, trades between teams is shit. We don't have that in ours, since it's a cashie and we don't want colluding between teams.

Zaha was a very good get by you. Kudos on that one. Westhoff could average 100+ from here, we all know he can go huge. I picked up Lachie Hunter for bench cover yesterday who I rate highly. Reminds me a bit of Gaff. Reckon he can go 100-105 this year.

I'm currently considering bringing in one or 2 of Jack Redden, Jack Martin, Liam Shiels, Shane Edwards or Breust who have all mostly spudded up so far this year for one reason or another. But all are quality SC players when fit and in form. I'm just not sure if I should dump any of my injured/out of form bench players though. Sheridan, BCrouch & SGray all on the chopping block ATM but all have upside and I'm not sure if any of those free agents will do any better. Do you think it's worth hanging on to those three?

This is our first year of doing Draft so we have all sorts of stupid shit (like captains :drunk:)

I think Crouch needs to go considering he's a midfielder. There are plenty of mids that can average 90+ easily so I don't think it's worth holding onto him when he looks to be extremely injury prone. At best he'll average 100 I guess? In classic he's a better proposition (though I turfed him there also) since he can generate $$$ but that's useless for draft.

Sam Gray looks simply awful this year and needs 30+ touches to even think about tonning up. I don't have much faith in him, got 37 touches in round 1 and got something stupid like 99. I would replace him with either Jack Martin or Edwards. Martin is a just a gun and will definitely average 90+ if he stays healthy. Edwards will get a lot better once Richmond start winning (??). As I rule I rarely pickup Hawthorn players because outside of Mitchell they all seem to be mega inconsistent. Breust in particular has stinkers all the time.

Great advice, thanks. Appreciate it. :):thumbsu:

A lot of strange trading in our draft league this year which goes against the usual SC logic and principles. Might have something to do with unlimited weekly trades or upcoming match ups. Dumping premo's after a shit game or 2 for mid-pricers who went big the week before. Mostly by toxic chasing last weeks points.

I've mostly been doing the opposite by picking up the dumped players as free agents who were rage traded out after a shit game or 2.

So far I've picked up NRoo who toxic traded out after a 33 in Rd1. Since then he's scored 101, 86 & 102 for me, while the player he traded in for NRoo, Lambert has spudded up the last 2 weeks with a 70 & 74.

Also picked up Billings who someone else dumped after he scored 68, 64 in the 1st 2 rounds. Since I brought him in as a free agent he's gone 109 & 102 and looks every bit a forward premo.

I admit I did dump Greene after Rd1 myself which I sort of regret, but he's up and down like a yo-yo anyway and the player I bought in for him, NRoo has been far more consistent, so no big loss.

Anyway, I don't buy into bringing in iffy players just because they've got a perceived easy match coming up. Keep doing that all year and you'll end up with a much worse team than you started of with as all the better season long type keepers will be gone.

thankyou for your eternal wisdown

In that same order for me.
Leng Jai, I have done similar picking up billings mcglynn miles redden on waivers.
I did drop b crouch after his latest hammy but very tempted to pick him up for a swallow who I think has to go.
Krujan, thanks for ranking them I just put them in alphabetical order

Yeah I dropped Redden because I already had too many mediocre midfielders on my team. I could see him being decent later on though.

You'd think having a dominant tap ruckman like NicNat would = moar SC points for inside mid types. Reckon Redden will go well once he finds his feet again. Has missed a lot of football, no pre-season either.

I started redden last week and he was very disappointing esp with no priddis. A friend tells me his 'game' doesn't suit the WACA, I think he will get better but not sure how many points priddis/gaff/shuey will leave for him

I've scored more points. Look at your points against column. Must have played 2 spud teams. :rainbow:

strangely the ladder is based on WINS

not total points

perhaps you should focus on wins

Perhaps you should focus on not trading like a n00b chasing last weeks points. You'll go down in flames against my team when we play. You'll see.

If you say so

I'll await Rd16 with sooo much anticipation ;)

Half decent defenders are few and far between in draft. Was looking at Harry Taylor but someone picked him and Mackie up today already. Seedsman is sitting there who could potentially be alright.

That's where bench strategy comes into it.

If you see a decent defender in the free agents list, put him on the pine - did that with Easton Wood the other week.

Dont' waste bench spots with Rucks & look to have DPP players where they are appropriate. IMO

Nah, Hanley is in my classic team and just warming up. The in my league who has him in draft has sat him on the pine every week :$

Damn it, I was going to trade in Wood, got distracted by something shinny, nek minnit...gone.

I agree about not wasting bench spots on rucks. That's why I traded out Nicholls for Jordan Roughead because he can be cover for the Ruck and Defence, which allowed me to bring in a 2nd bench midfielder in Hunter, who I might actually start this week.

Yep, got done by Shuey & Hanley one fiddy's. Neither will score that high again this year. :rainbow::(:rainbow:
Hanley every chance to.
Shuey is fast becoming a 110 premo.

See ya in the finals when I have guns back on the field :thumbsu:

Looking forward you it, bud. GAJ will score 200+ next time around and SP Cripps will be averaging 150+ by then. ;)

I wouldn't think twice about dropping Sheridan. Redden and Shiels look underdone atm. Martin and Edwards would be my two picks. Definitely Martin in for Sheridan. SGray could be alot better if/when PTA start winning. I too am holding out hope for BCrouch, but perhaps a 95 avg from mcintosh/Whitfield is a better option...

First time doing a draft league I've got

Houli Boyd (Yeo)
Ablett Shiel (Shuey, Duncan)
Nic Nat (Tippett)
Dusty Zorko (Devon Smith)

Pretty happy with that although I guess it's easy to get a good team with so few teams/players.

That's the T20 version of SC right there.

I like the 11 on the field version that we're playing, although I would have preferred more than 4 bench players.
