its not to cover a late out, it's to cover an injury. it allows you to bring in a decent starter as opposed to someons who is a free agent (aka poor )

for example
if you compare def (lowest scoring area) to mids (highest scoring area)
10 team league, 11 man structure (3 def 4 mid 1 ruck 3 fwd)
top 30 def gone - lets say 36 due to injuries etc - so current defender 37 is Nic haynes average 80 in that 80-70 range there is a further 30 players who you could trade in as a free agent
top 40 mids gone - lets say 50 based on injuries - so current mid 50 is David Armitage (removing the fwds from the list) average of 93 after Armitage there are a further 30 who average higher than Nic haynes as the example

factor in the likelihood that a mid is far more capable of going +25 of their average compared to a defender and it makes a lot of sense to me

Masterstroke bringing Kreuz in, will be streaming rucks now. I plan to hold Kreuz this week vs PTA
However, planning to dump B.Grundy and JRoughead, JGriffin, RStanley, on waivers.... thoughts please?
would really like to run just one ruck and use bench for other positions

B.Crouch on bench and watched him closely on sat night, he wasnt great but will be better for the run hopefully)

First week I put Rockliff on my field and he gets injured instantly. Fyfe/Rockliff traded in for Deledio/Beams and somehow I still win every week

I copped BCrouch's 50 in my defence (for Laird) instead of Bont's 150. I really wish Crouch had stayed injured.

I traded Toby after rd1 which was a blunder, since I could have traded SGray or De Goey instead. Thankfully I used that trade on NRoo, so no real damage done but still Toby would have come in handy as mid/fwd bench cover at least.

I haven't seen Dempsey but I am sceptical of Reid, too KPP, I read Fantasia played more fwd the last few weeks?

Trengove is only viable if he carries on in the ruck which looks likely.
Reid being a KPP makes me hesitant too but he has been so consistent, low score of 70 and top of 100. Something unusual with a kpp
Fantasia has been at HF the last few weeks, seems to be to the detriment of his sc output

I do like Reid the player, but you cannot ignore his injury history, its just a matter of time :-(
I haven't been watching the COLL games, just remember that Langdon and Williams will come back in and play the HB 'playmaker' role.
Reid relies on marks/turnovers, bit like E.Wood and T.McDonald (i have both in draft and its a rollercoaster)

I just picked up Dylan Roberton as a free agent. Listed as 'test' hopefully he'll play soon.

I am still undecided, Roberton's knee is listed as test and he may come back in via VFL. Good if you can store him on the bench. I am looking at J.howe who similarly has underperformed this year but been good 2 of the past 3 matches, if he gets to 20 poss he seems to score very very well. Hopefully he can play more HBF/wing with Reid/Williams out...
