It may be worth looking ahead to Round 22 for those of us aiming for league glory. There are a number of selection queries that may or may not become problematic for some teams.

For instance, the Cats play Fremantle at home. Will Geelong rest some players prior to their Qualifying Final? They've done it before, so will they do it again?

It could be catastrophic for teams with the likes of Ablett, Bartel, Selwood, and Chapman. If you have no trades left, the entire season can unravel in a day!

Similarly, the Saints play the Demons at the MCG. Unlike Geelong, St Kilda has not 'rested' players this year, but maybe this will change just before finals? Who knows... but again, all it takes is a small combination of Ablett, Bartel, Selwood, Chapman, Riewoldt, Goddard, Hayes, Dal Santo or Montagna not to play and your season is screwed!

To be honest, i dont think teams will be resting players one week prior to a final...

Now is the time to rest players coming into finals..

That's what you hold the trades for!

If league wins is your goal then save the trades so you can at least cover 1-2 of these round 22 withdrawals

The other thing to note is that whoever you meet in the GF will likely be in the same boat with StK and Geelong players

true. cats are resting and saints haven't rested recently but then they haven't exactly been going into the finals onthe top of the ladder lately..

dogs did it heaps last year.

The only thing to remember, as said above is that everyone faces the same thing. So if you stockup on one team then you get the bonus' and thefalls of that team. I have quite a few blues in my SC team so whent e blues do well I usually have a good week while it weeks where the blues die in a whole I go into a fetal position.

If you have reserves your fine to be safe. I doubt many be wil rested, ablett MAYBE, bartel MAYBE, chapman MAYBE.. anyone with a bit of an injury niggle mnay be rested. The likes of Goddard, NDS etc.. wont be.

I can't see any of the big teams risking players form 1 week before the finals. As mattyb said, players with a niggle will be rested now so they have time to make it back to peak form or they will just play through it.

The real danger are the players of the cellar dwellers. If a priority pick is up for grabs in the final game don't expect to see Cox back on the park.
