This is a quetion about DT/SC.

How's Chapman's pre-season been? He missed a few NAB cup games through injury. Is he right to go round 1, and do you expect him to have an impact right away, or will he be eased back into it?

Also rumours of OP have scared me off GAJ, does anyone have info about Gaz's current injury status?

Chappie's pre-season has been alright by all accounts. I expect he'll play as toughly he always does.

Rumours are only rumours. There's been no official word on OP so we're all relatively in the dark but I doubt the rumour strongly.

Chappy will star this year. TI think they just eased him through with a slight injury.
Gazza is a mystery . if he is fit he would be in anyones side. I think its a case of wait till the last minute with him. I still have him in mine at the moment.

My 2 cents...

Don't bother picking Chapman in Supercoach. IMO he is overpriced. The guy had a fantastic year in 2006, B&F, which is why he is $550k+. To be honest, I doubt if he can replicate it. While you do need players who perform well every week, it is more important to pick players who you think may improve on last year.
 
Don't think Milburn was mentioned once in this thread. Any reason for this? I think he looks like a pretty good option, considering there is SFA in the backs section.

I just don't see him improving on his previous years. He is 30ish and can't see him backing up his previous consistent results. To be honest Geelong, Westcoast and maybe Collingwood seam like the three worst supercoach teams.

Ohh and in reference to the earlier argument with the Brisbane supporter about whether or not Lappin is playing round 1. He has ben named for the practice match this week. The confidence in Lappin is so high it seems he has been named Captain of Brisbane.

Hes actually 29 turning 30 this year, and he racks up just as much possessions a season as any other defender. Should've been AA in 2005. very underrated player.

You are correct about the possessions, and along with his effectiveness are the reasons why he is the most expensive backman behind Hunt and Scarlett. But that is not the debate.... I agree that he may start to struggle replicating his form due to age, and there are better options on supercoach for the $$.

I'm starting to think you might be right. I've got Milburn now, but I think I'll have a look at what else is on offer for the money.

Get on board. He looks set to hold the CHF position this year for the cats and could average from 2-4 goals a match. He'd have to be one of the most Intimidating footy players to match up on.

I think Mooney has larger room for improvement, far less prone to injury and is obviously cheaper than Ottens. Mooney is one of only 2 Geelong players in my side. Why? While I believe he will do minimal ruck work this year, he often takes contested marks in the forward line / kicks goals, and fills gaps when in defense on half back, racking up rebound marks, possessions etc. I don't have the stats to back it up, though I would think Mooney would be far ahead of Ottens in minutes per game too, which helps...

I think for the $ (480k I think), there are much safer players from other clubs to pick than Ottens. My 2cents.
