I am starting the supercoach league for the elite posters on here on behalf of wambat who has asked me to organise on his behalf because he has no Internet access from his cell.

If you are interested then post here and I will advise wambat of who is interested. He will then in turn let me know if you are accepted or not.

Preference will be given to previous participants of this league.

I can't remember which flog was in it previously so the honesty rule will apply. Wambat also doesn't remember as his brain has fried sniffing all that glue.

I had an idea which I thought would get divvied but is simpler than Supercoach. I call it Bay 13 Supercoach.

A person chooses 6 players any team, any position as their players and nominates 1 captain(whose score is doubled). No subs so if one of your seven doesn't play bad luck.

The Bay 13 twist is that you have to choose a spud whose score is taken away from your overall score. If your spud doesn't play or you don't choose one , you have 80 points taken away from your overall score.

So say you choose Goddard, Ablett, Swan, Martin, Priddis and Franklin with Ablett as your captain you might get 800 points.

Just say you choose Kosi as your spud and he stinks up the joint and gets 40 points, your overall score is 760 points.

Anyway it would have been divvied so meh...

The idea had merit. Too hard to be practical, but oh the Bay would have fun with new whipping boys...... or everyone picks a really good shut-down defender.

How about you make a comp where you try to get the least amount of supercoach points possible? So it's just a team of absolute flogs. They can't be subs, they have to be playing otherwise that player gets 100 points.

Say you need 3 defenders, three mids, and three forwards. Lowest score wins. Can have one sub for each position.

The comp would be called SuperFlog.

Idea has potential.

Watts, Schoenmakers, Hansen, Jackson, Trengove (Poort variety), Kozi, Thurlow, Maxwell, Grant. That's an unwinnable team right there.

I predict that Levi Casbolt will quickly become the leagues most overhyped player in 2013.

After a couple of arsey runs in the first couple of weeks, and with Carlton as certain flag favorites he will be crowned a superstar only to revel in mediocrity, week in week out.

He would be my spud.

Maybe but from a supercoach perspective , his numbers are not that great - averaging 10.3 disposals, 3.3 marks and 1.1 per game. Hansen averages 12.5 possessions and 5.4 marks and 1.5 goals.

Also given the "tri KPF" forward line, Tarrant might have a good day ( from a Supercoach perspective not a team perspective) or a bad one.

I think I won this the first time we did it but am no longer an active Bay 13 flog so give other posters priority. I'll put Jack Watts in for the lulz and Jimmy Bartel to keep Hodepodge happy

True, forgot there can often be a difference between the two. It's the main reason I don't do DT/SC anymore, I found after awhile it distorted my perception of the players. I also currently find I enjoy watching football more without it.

Agree entirely - Supercoach does distort perceptions and is too time consuming but I figured we could have a simple Bay supercoach game with few rules and the concept of the Supercoach spud to give it the Bay quality.

The time element was another thing. I quite enjoyed constructing the team at the start, but got very bored of managing it after awhile, I rarely used my trades.
