One thing I didn't get from last season (or more likely I just forgot) is why the hell did Dick Roman dig up the word of God? If it was just to keep it from getting into the wrong hands, surely it would be safer underground?

Anyway, very excited for Season 8. That promo made it look like it will be the last season, but then I read this on Wikipedia
At Comic-Con 2012, showrunner Jeremy Carver revealed his overall plan of plotting out a story that will help him at least reach his goal of “the end of season 10.
So who knows.

Okay first ep. A couple of things annoyed me though. First was Sam not even trying to help Dean or others. It doesn't seem to fit with his character at all, apart from the arc where he didn't have his soul. Also that bitch vet he hooked up with was a shocker. The way she spoke just didn't fit with the way any intelligent person I've come across would treat a stranger trying to do the right thing.

The second thing was Sam's hair. It's just getting ridiculous and is all I notice when he's on screen. Hopefully at some point this season they come across a lawnmower demon which Sam comes off second best against.

Dean's flashbacks were good but the Kevin one where crowley mentioned his haircut was just stupid. Get the kid a wig for his flashbacks if he's cut his hair between seasons.

Not a bad first ep, I think this is going to be another 'set-up' season though. So many things that I want to know about though.

Also best line "Yeah and Sasha Grey has gone legit"

Lol'd

Great start with the Jethro Tull too :thumbsu: Lot of intrigue with Dean's year in purgatory and this "Benny" guy who is probably a leviathan, not to mention Cas missing. Always good to have my boy Crowley too.

Also completely agree with jackn, get a ****ing haircut Jared that shit is ridiculous now, doesn't exactly scream "FBI Agent" so much as "wayward drifter".

Agreed on the vet being a bitch.

Thought ... Cas has been taken over by the devil( he was still in his head right?), Dean never said he was dead, just that he'd seen enough and left the rest to Sam's imagination.
Didn't the devil leave his head when he was "reborn"?
Pretty solid second episode, I still think that Cas is in purgatory and will eventually make a come back. Hope they kept Mjolnir though.

Good episode, I think the story has definately improved from last season. Really like Kevin and the actor that plays him, can just see him going all super crazy with some special god power near the end. Crowely was good like he is every episdoe. Love him!

"Not like its the first one I've got ......" Onya Kevins mum.

Great ep :thumbsu:

Great look into the Purgatory arc. A single scene would've been enough to keep be interested there, let alone the three (?) they showed. :thumbsu:

Thought the fact that Kevin's mum was willing to sacrifice her soul was one of the best moments in the show's history.

For all the sacrificing Angels seem happy to do in Supernatural, it seemed odd that the Vatican was their most valued possession.

Also seemed a bit odd that ruthless new Dean didn't cut Kevin's mom up in order to kill Crowley.

Loved the N64 behind the pawn shop guy too :D

I don't mind the fillers generally. They're part and parcel of the network shows. When you have to fill 22 eps there's going to be filler and it's the reason no shows of this type are great. They're just TV that's a bit of fun.

Is there any great TV shows that have had seasons longer than 12 episodes? I can't think of any. Lost could have been one but wasn't in the end (imo) and I can't think of any others that came close.
